We had a surprise snowstorm in the Colorado Foothills yesterday and I was in the middle of a major garage project, so the 911 had to sleep outside overnight. I woke up to find her buried under 13" of wet, heavy snow. Got the garage project finished this afternoon and spent a back-breaking hour shoveling what felt like wet cement but I got it done. She's now tucked away until I finish shoveling...
Hit the Good Vibes Breakfast Club this morning. Chatted a little with Matt Farah re his gorgeous 718 Sypder. Magnus Walker was up there with his 76. Newcombs Ranch is 5,000 ft elevation. The drive up was foggy then we broke through at around 3,500 ft and it was blue skies above the fog.
Someone got a good deal on that. He/she must've picked that up right away since I took that photo on the 5th. Damn, I would've jumped on that. That color is one my grail colors.
indeed, that was a great buy. I picked up a Vesuvio with 172k miles back in October and am going through it now.
It was flawless. Had 997 sport seats (which made me want to switch mine out immediately). Sounded great leaving the meet too. Musta had Fisters or an X pipe.
Found a pic of my girlfriend and I talking with Matt Farrah. His Spyder is amazing. Told us the fully story. His original car was on the boat that sank. When his replacement arrived, he sent it straight to DeMan for an engine rebuild (545hp) and had the ratios in the gearbox swapped out to more closely spaced. Super nice guy. I need to get me a career on YouTube 😁

Damn, I would've gone. I assumed it was going to be icy and snowy up there with the weather we've been having.

You west coasters have been hiding Angeles Crest from me for 51 years!
So finally I got to experience that road for the first time last week. We flew in from Maryland and rented an Aud R8 V10 to enhance the experience.
It might be the best driving public road America has. 1/2 way up to Newcombs Ranch at the rest stop I let my son drive. I was both happy and scared at the same time I'm glad we could share the experience.
You are very lucky to have that road and that car culture in your backyard so to speak. Thanks for sharing.
