Aren't you supposed to be in front of a 7-11 for a pic like that?
Welcome from a fellow 2002 targa owner. Targas are the best Porsche, and the 996 is the best targa. Before the 996 you didn't get the hatch, and after the 996 you didn't get 2wd. Congratulations on hitting the targa sweet spot.
Very nice looking early build! And is that a Boxster red interior I spy?
If you're user name is any indication of your location enjoy those last few weekends while you can before everything turns to ice! Just recently moved out of the 509 myself.
Savoring the last gasps of PCH "top down" summer as the heat turns brisk and the marine layer creeps back in. Heisler Park off PCH is a great place and always a photo op!

Good eyes! Boxster Red indeed.
Also well-spotted re. my username. The weather appears to be taking a definite turn for the worse this coming week.

quit your whining about weather. Here on the east coast we are preparing for hibernation.
The non black interior really does a better job of showing how the horseshoe flows down to the middle console and then flows to the center console. The grey outlines the sides while the black flows down the middle. The black console then really ties it all together.
Arnuld, out of curiosity, what color did you use to paint your center console and what color is your exterior paint. I have a seal grey car with graphite grey interior and am looking for ideas. Your interior looks good.

I didn’t paint the center console. It came that way when I bought it. The exterior is metallic black. And thanks!

If you wanted to paint match any interior pieces I've had very good experience with these guys for paint - https://www.automotivetouchup.com/to...02/all-models/ I've used their spray paint and a 2k clear coat for my front lip and was very happy with the results. As always, it's all down to the prep work.

Pete, thanks for the link. You have a good eye for this stuff. Question for you. With a seal grey exterior and graphite grey interior, what color would you use for the center console? Seal grey may end up getting lost in the sea of grey.
Thanks! Yeah, that's a good point about Seal Gray. It may or may not have enough contrast with the grey and I think that's what you want to break things up a bit. I think going for black accents would be what I would do, without going full interior rework, like I remember Ryan doing with his 996 (where he did a full alcantara dash). You could paint certain parts in black as the easier approach. Plastic side vent pieces, center horse shoe piece, ignition key surround/bezel, front dash speaker covers as well as the thin accent line that runs across the dash would provide some contrast and break up the monotone of grey. I would also paint the whole center piece in black and add a black shift boot and ****. You just want to decide if you want this in gloss or more matte. I'm thinking matte. I also think you can quite easily replace the center pieces of the seats. Getting them in alcantara would look great and be actually functional. If you could get a black steering wheel I think that would help a ton too. I love my Momo Mod07 but I understand if you want to retain the airbag.
I've been contemplating of how to restore the scuffed up door plastics and might give alcantara a try before I repaint them. It's a fairly simple shape to work with and I think it would look good, even as it wears. Doing the above suggested pieces in black alcantara would classy up the interior even more with a different texture but would be a bit more difficult to get done - but not impossible. That's just my 2 cents as I know a lot of this is subjective.

Pete, very good two cents. Thank you. I figured I would get the leather seats done as well to tie it in. I just may pick up some extra bits on ebay and start stripping and painting to see what may work.
