I don't want this thread to sink down out of sight. There is a 10 day lull between track sessions up here, well actually more like 14 days if you count sessions where we're driving 996's. So I'll put this here: this was at Palmer (Whiskey Hill Racetrack) https://www.palmermotorsportspark.com last Sunday in the heavy rain. I have driven on track in rain before, though not here. It seems this track's corners are all off camber and it's VERY SLIPPERY when it's wet.
I left my 996 at home and drove my VW. I can hear you laughing all the way over here, except my VW has a 270-hp supercharged VR6 and weighs about 2650. It still doesn't turn in very well because all the weight is up front so to get reasonable times I have to dive bomb the corners, brake as late as possible, turn in going slow, get on the throttle before the apex, and fast out.
This track can be run both ways although not at the same time. Sunday we drove counter-clockwise. I can't describe how slippery it was. My car was sliding all over, even though it's front wheel drive it was a handful to keep going straight. When it's dry I can go WOT in 3rd gear at the apex of 7, lift slightly for 8, and stay WOT in 3rd gear until the brake zone for 9. Not so much this past Sunday, even maintenance throttle through 8 was too much.
Watch the video... nothing bad happens I promise. Track map:

I’ll be there in the 8th and praying it looks nothing like it does in your video. I’m not sure videos do that place justice of the consequence of error, I’m giving you a standing slow clap over here for beasting it through in those conditions.

I’ll be running CC for the first time and learning the track all over again.

I've been there 6 days and only done CCW. Once in the rain but not like last Sunday.

Hope to have vids from NYST this Saturday. This is the forecast.

Default Phone holder

Hi everyone. What do you guys use for a stable phone holder? I have the iPhone 11 max it’s big and heavy and all holders I’ve tried so far aren’t stable enough. I mean with suction cup to put on the windshield and record videos using track apps. Thank you!

Actually mine is pretty good except last track day, my magnetic pad moved slightly which caused the action in my vid
What I am using is just a 3D printed adaptor for cigarette lighter combined with baseus phone holder.
