In truth the 996 headlights ARE divisive: they draw a definitive dividing line between ALL the 911 Types that LOST LeMans, and THE ONLY ONE that ever WON --
1998 996 GT1
1999 996 GT3
2000 996 Carrera
1998 996 GT1
1999 996 GT3
2000 996 Carrera

Not even early-build or rare color, and still did $45K all-in. Simply amazing to us yes: but really all these numbers are eventually getting another zero. Inevitable given 996 LeMans history, 1st water-cooled (HELLO), and let's face it: the freakin car itself

People will always look at mileage. Find a crisp numbers matching anything with low miles and it sends it to the moon. You can still sell "X" for a high dollar if well sorted, but true collectors paying top dollar are paying attention to mileage. So long as everything matches, drivers mileage doesn't seem to hurt.

True, however I'm expecting certain 996 variants to eventually inherit the same collector status as the 356. Such rarefied categories absolutely defy comparison to an 800-mile Plymouth Horizon; Doug Demuro's unbridled enthusiasm for such on "CarsandBids" notwithstanding
