Default My best option car budget 30 k or so

My budget is around 30 k. I am wanting a 996 or hopefully a 997 porsche 911 base. With a manual trans. Dont care a lot about options. Would be happy with 80 or 90 k miles as long as the car is non accident .. grey or red or silver .. hope to get as much leather as possible and not used in salt.
. What do you think my best chance is of finding in my price range.??? I want a coupe.. plan on some club track stuff but no racing..
. Your opinions would be appreciated.. scott

go look in the Craigslist finds thread. I paid $35k even for my 03 C4S with 62k and all service history (including recent IMS/RMS/clutch).

plenty of deals out there if you are diligent and can get to the seller first. I'd also suggest being willing to travel, but 30k should buy you a very nice 996 with lower miles or a higher mile 997

I don't think you will find any 997 manual coupes for $30k, though I did recently put eyes on and go for a test drive in a 997.1 S manual cab. It had 120k mile, 40k on a Porsche replacement engine, but no other service docs. Owner was asking $30k. RL member I looked at it for decided to pass, but for that price, subject to a thorough PPI, it was a do with minimal downside. You should be able to find a 996 manual coupe C2 or C4 for you budget, but not a C4S. Also please remember the purchase price is just the initiation fee, the monthly dues and annual assessments can quickly make you forget about the initiation fee. Best of luck on your search. "club track stuff", do you mean HPDE?

As stated above, I think deals can still be had. But you have to the first to make contact and have cash ready.
if the deal is good enough, there will be a bunch of people in line for it

Wet sump 996’s in standard colors with higher miles can still be bought all day long for under $30K; & if there’s a ding on the Carfax even less. 997 no way, that ship sailed

Might as well start high if it doesn't hurt to keep the car around. May be "the one" for that certain "someone", never know.
