Seems like a valid enough reason to take a little trip to the 50th state. Last one to Barking Sands buys...start at Princeville...if someone takes one (ticket) for the team, drink free...would be a pretty fun cars n coffee

Making progress.. Bearing clearances double checked, coatings applied and the crankshaft is torqued up in the carrier, end thrust set.
That's enough for one day. Maybe the short block will be assembled tomorrow, but I have a lot more work to do first. Ring gaps, light checking rings, final surface finish testing on the bores, and ring tension recordings. This is the time where I build the R- Series engine blueprint, and have to log all the final data for the engine build record.

The ******* himself, doing a little precision measurement...

A big question mark on the secret clearance!

Where some of the magic happens..

Some contrasting components..

Laid out for the party..

Flattening the sealing surfaces using several different whetstones, and lightweight oil

Bill, is this a serious offer? Once COVID was over, I'd be very tempted to see what the motor is like....

Bill, how do you sleep at night?
If I were you, I’d be laying in bed thinking about all the fun you’re going to be having soon.
It’s like Christmas is just around the corner!!

Jake, and Ava are like Santa sending pictures to you telling you what you’re getting as your toys are being built.
Exciting and cruel at the same time!
Sleep well my friend, for soon you’ll only want to drive.

I don't think that would happen even at gunpoint!

Bill, have you considered replacing your decklid with a custom plexiglass decklid?
It's going to be a shame to cover that piece of art up with a decklid!
