I think Doug seems pretty genuine, you can tell when he gets giddy about a car. He is pretty dry though.

JayEmm on Cars is quite a good presenter. I agree with the wholesome and unpolished feel of the channel, plus he delves into all kinds of cars and compares. Quite enjoyable, small channel still.

Or did he.. I’m not a huge fan of Hoovie (I prefer some other youtubers) but was extremely proud he finally called out the shoddy and unnecessarily overpriced Porsche dealership service experience with these cars. I sincerely hope Porsche corporate was watching but doubt they were or care. As most of us I have been with an indy mechanic on my Porsche since almost day one because they simply care if you return. From a price standpoint AND quality of work posture.

Carfection is the best automotive channel on YouTube right now for me. Anything that used to be at that level on YT doesn't really exist in the same capacity anymore (Chris Harris on Cars, Evo, Motor Trend). Don't mind me I just creeped in here looking for news on the new PCCM+ head unit.

Harry's Garage is quite good as well. I think the best car channel on YouTube.
Everyday Driver is pretty good as well. It has a more than amateur, less than professional look/vibe to me.

I watched both of his new 996 videos. Not sure why he went on extended rant about the local dealership but maybe he had a score to settle. Looks like he did well though on the manual 996 cab for $6k. Hope he follows up with more about it.

I think it's an important point especially as more dealerships get gobbled up by larger entities. You want to think if you take your car to the dealership you will get a level of care that is above and beyond an independent mechanic. You would certainly expect it when paying the premium for such a thing. The sad truth that we've all experienced is that this is often not the case and like any business some will be better than others. I have seen it first hand when I went to a Land Rover dealership to inquire on major servicing costs and the new guy couldn't even answer basic questions on pricing or what was needed when. Their pink AutoNation plate frames were a funny gimmick but the people were clearly out of their depth with basic questions. Their services were also unnecessarily tiered where the higher end services included more of what I could only assume was scam detergent products. I suppose I am not the customer they are courting anyway, but it's disheartening to see a service department get notably worse and also more dishonest and expensive.

I only watched the video because it was about a 996. He clearly could do an entire video just about today's dealership experience. I was expecting more about the car (which came in the follow up video) and less about the changing quality of car dealerships in america.

I'm only laughing because anybody that watches Hoovie videos knows he's always the first person to call out what a clueless goof he is - and that's why I like his personality. The person that works on his cars is Mr. Wizzard, and Hoovie has never, ever tried to hide that fact. Full credit always goes to Wiz.

Hey thanks! I work for Everyday Driver. We focus mainly on TV now but still produce YouTube content. You can find us on the Motor Trend Channel (NOT THE APP OR ONDEMAND) early on Saturday mornings, Season 7 premiers on the 4th! But you can also find us on Amazon Prime for the US and Vimeo internationally.

The salt and gatekeeping in this thread is really unbecoming and says a lot more about some of the posters here than it does about the target of their criticism.
Hoovie is harmless, as is Demuro and Nick Murray. There's content out there that's far more insidious to hate on; start with any of the young influencers with hypercar channels, for instance.
