Did a little clean-up of the pins. Nice fit, internally.

Not quite surgical precision, but not horrible. The pins should hold as intended. No risk of cam chain interference.

Spent a little time today preparing for a big event. The block halves should be delivered tomorrow. I could have taken a small step by putting #4-6 con rods in, but I wanted to get closer to having everything in-place to cover Stage 2 of the M9X build procedure.

I think the only part I'm waiting on, to complete that step, is the IMS chain. Should be here next Wednesday. Some of the parts for that...

Here's some entertainment to go with that popcorn.

Brown Santa delivered some nice toys to a good boy...

Dang, those cylinder walls look thin and pre-scored for your convenience! Hopefully it’s just an optical illusion.

Did some actual work. Something that could have been done a few days ago. Installed the bank #2 con-rods.

Followed along with the DVD, step by step. I've had some free time to watch various segments over and over. I placed my rolling workbench in position to keep a close eye on the TV while I proceed through each step. Guess what's next?

Left off here: I still don't have the IMS chain, so that is keeping this step (Stage 2) from being completed. It's not that I can't find other things to keep me occupied...
Just did a loose fit of the IMS chain guides.

Thin, yes. I think there is lubricant that may be providing that optical delusion.

No (bore) scoring visible here.

Looks like you opted for the "delux" package? Aluminum paint? Looks too good to be original surface...

I don't think they've been painted. I did have to pay extra to have them cleaned up before they could even work on them.

It would have been nice to know this ahead of time. I could have put more effort into that.

So what do you do when you get these nice block halves returned after everything is cleaned up and new cylinders are installed? Well, you start hacking into it.

Good fit for the oil feed line. All parts installed finger-tight for verification purposes.

I also spun the oil filter adapter into place. Since I had the box open, and because I could...

I'll be sure to ask when I call them. I have a few questions, and one of them is about the cleaning/ finishing. Sure is purty...

The last couple of days have been spent inspecting, trial fitting and balancing things. Lots of testing and double checking.

The ring sets were all checked without removing them from their sealed bags. We'll see how they play out. I wouldn't expect a 0.3 gm. delta from the high and low.
