I picked it up from the custom wheel shop after the wheels were powder coated and sealed. The look like they did when the car was brand new. Lovely. Now I just need to decide if I want to refinish the center hub caps myself and learn to do that or order them off ebay....

Trying to decipher the electronic gagetry in my new MB ML350 [2013 - new to me] made me appreciate the simplicity of my '99 Carrera. So, I just spent some time sitting in it today - awaiting the next run. The weather is supposed to improve this week. Fingers crossed.

Default My 911 is finally back on the road!!!

HBI auto in Mocksville NC found the problem and fixed it. I'm extremely pleased with the work they did.

So did they just replace the lifters? Why? Tapping noise? It looks like there was some oil spraying that side of the engine. Did they address that? Do tell more...

The Problem was Cyl #2 misfire, it would only misfire at idle and throw a code, once the engine was accelerated passed 2k the CEL code would go away, but then it would come back once the car stop or was at idle. Yes they went through the entire engine and replaced all the lifters. there was no tapping noise, and the oil spray was the valve cover gasket. Yes they addressed everything that was wrong with the entire engine from top to bottom they also replaced all the vacuum lines since most were dry rotted.

Last night my mechanic (AMCPILOT):
1. checked the codes, nada
2. checked the oil filter, absolutely clean
3. replaced the plugs and coils, used the bigger BERU's
4. checked the exhaust system extensively
5. put it all back together, sounds, runs good, no codes

Drove it to work this morning, ran great. Hads lots more low end power. I left it in D and didn't shift manually, didn't need to, lot's more torque!

Washed, clayed, and waxed. My arms are dead!
Tried some painted crest center caps(cuz my car came with them originally) but I like the black/silver better at the moment.

YES! Think about how important plugs are, and they are not all made with the same quality.
I'm no guru on these engines but I've never seen anything bad about the NGK Iridiums.
If you have any doubt, change the plugs, they're cheap and not that hard to replace.

LOL! You should have seen mine! It was 4 times worse! I think it must have been there for at least 10 years.
