I reached 1000 miles on my 2002 C4 Cabriolet with a Stage II+ FSI M9Xperience motor and performed the oil change. I also loaded a more aggressive map. I will be contacting Jake/Atlanta Speed Works to get it on the dyno and optimize the tune prior to heading out to Rennsport Reunion later in September. It runs fantastic now, I can’t wait to see what it does with an optimized tune.

Going to be a busy weekend for me with the 996. As I'm planning on doing the following:
- Replace spark plugs, spark plugs tubes and coil packs
- Rebuild front suspension (new control arms all around, etc.)
- Flush and replace coolant
Lets see if I can knock it out in a day.
The good:
Ended up getting the spark plug tubes, spark plugs and coil packs done. Pretty easy job, just tedious. Flushing the coolant and refilling it was a pain in the a$$ and I'll definitely invest in a vacuum tool the next time around. I didn't get to the front suspension yet, I would have had enough time but I was aching all over. I always tell myself I still feel like I'm 21 but it's definitely not the case when crawling on the garage floor for a few hours in 100 degree heat.
While having everything apart I also decided to do a deep cleaning so I cleaned the rear bumper cover, cleaned and polished the mufflers, etc.
The bad:
While having half of the rear torn apart I noticed that the inner axle boot on the driver side was completely torn to the point where about 50% of the boot was missing. So it looks like I'll be rebuilding that next weekend and while in there I might as well refresh the rear suspension too (my bank account is crying and so is my body).
No, hardest thing will be getting the axle out. Dreading the axle nut and it's 300 foot pound.
1/2" electric or air kmpacts zip them off. Fyi, the nuts are suppose to be 1 time use so buy a new one. Tech tip, have someone hold the brakes down when u torque them tight.

8/2/23 @ 108,700mi front brakes/rotors (power stop z23 kit rock auto), rotate front tires
8/4/23 @ 108,700mi rear brakes/rotors (pagid discs, brembo pads)
8/4/23 rear tires shot, only 4k mi. Alignment and new rear tires @ 108,700
8/25/23 @ 108,900 plugs/coils, new battery, alternator (997 150amp), y-cable, replaced most vacuum lines on top of engine. (Found resonator flap line broken, fixed)

Finally had some time to load the pictures from the project this weekend.
Removing the bumper and mufflers made installing new plugs easy. Hats off to anyone that does the job with everything in place. Don't mind the green masking tape on the door, I was cleaning and treating the rubber trim.
Polished the tips while everything was off.
Out with the old coolant. Not even sure what was in there....but it was 90% dirty water and 10% green coolant (the wrong coolant).
Forgot to mention that I knocked out a few side projects while in the my DIY mood starting with replacing the rotten rubber seals around the headlights.
Followed by repairing one of the rear wheels. Turned out quite wheel for my first wheel repair attempt.

What did you use to get them so shiny? And process?
As part of my restoration of my 99 C4 the headlights needed attention . Badly faded with interior lenses burnt on both sides . Last year I started watching for sale ads on various forums to find a clean set of bi-xenon headlights . Took a while but finally found a very clean set for a good price . I installed them yesterday . The pics really don't do justice to the dramatic difference between old and new . Plus my pic taking skills are less than stellar .
