Here's a place I found with inexpensive DT40 when looking for individual quarts of DI40 for my Cayenne: https://gwatneyperformance.com/produ...-category=oils . Seemed like a decent price.

Three Wheelin'
You guys love to drink the koolaid
car salesman or a lawyer. With most of the crowd here in this forum I should have invented a lot of stuff for a 996, sold it with the Porsche premium tax and i should already had enough to buy my own island. 🥃 cheers.

Agreed
I’ll put my blls on a chopping block Mobil one is a lot better cost performance benefit than this snake oil. By the way remember I’m a retired lubrication engineer not a used

Your car is, in the words of Peter Griffin, freakin' sweet. I might have mentioned before but I'll repeat it my car has headers 200 cell cats and valved exhaust by top gear UK and without a tune it just sounded awesome but I didn't really feel like it pulled any harder in fact it lost some in the lower RPM for sure. The tune by VR definitely definitely made a big difference especially throttle response.

Another failure with a small victory
I finished the Plasti dip and topped with glossifier added the black center caps and colored Porsche valve caps and mounted those Wheels. The Plasti dip is definitely a dust magnet I'm not sure if that will be good enough for me or not but for now it was something fun to do and it looks great with the Carrera backdate decal. I think dark wheels on light cars seem to work pretty good. The failure was underneath the car I removed the rearmost plastic covers and got all the stuff ready to do manual transmission oil drain and fill. I didn't even get the fill bolt undone, it's it's retardedly torqued on there and I can't get at it with my impact, so I guess I have to admit defeat and take it to my indie. Which is fine he's going to do an alignment for me and I'll finally get my new key programmed he's got the codes and I guess I'll get my oil changed while I'm in there. Next year without a doubt I'm buying those easy lift 5500 things. I've also got new rear drop links and a adjustable rear sway bar by eibach so I tested the fittings for getting them undone but I got stuck right there too I couldn't get a socket on the bolt attaching the top of the drop link to the suspension it's inside a cup like thing at the bottom of the strut. I guess I could have tried a little harder but I was tired and I still need some energy to put the last two wheels on the car and take it down off the jack stands. Jack stands are pain in the *** and too nerve-racking for this old man. For now I'll pay my indie for all changes and whatnot and like I said maybe next year... I'm going to go now and finish it off get the two wheels on and get it on the ground after this break then take my son for a ride he's only been out in it once with e new exhaust and that was from the airport to here not much of a drive.

thanks for the confirmation. I'm pretty sure the mobil1 liquimoly motul insert name here oil is of sufficient quality, my uoa seems to support that. I use the recommended 5w40 motul excess 8100 V1 (don't check my spelling) that my Indy recommends. His shop is very respected, and he warranties his work for 3 years, all of it. Which is pretty freaking sweet. He would not be pushing oil that might lead to failures. My oil stays in the car for only 6 months and I don't track, yet. Cannot afford the wear and tear. Yet. Soon... Saving my money for a move to somewhere near VIR. that place is awesome. To track in Wilmington means a long drive. Some will say do autocross, but that doesn't appeal as much as track days with Chin our similar. Parking lot pylons are just not interesting to me, I'm not competitive at all that way. Driving on legendary circuits tho, yes please. I'm rambling... Exhausted again from another failure working under the car ... But, I got something done anyway.
