Seats look really nice. Honestly these seats fit me like non other. I feel like I could drive cross country. Congrats!

When I purchased (Corbeau Black/Gray lasted 6 years, 5 hard track years)
996 GT3 Seats from Tom Black/Yellow
Switched out the inserts, via P1 Designs (Incredible customer service and prompt parts making)

Thanks Z, Tex and 168, had to break the piggy bank, but love them so far. With the 996 values drifting up, felt good to get some OEM seats back in play!

don’t bother calling GMG for installation instructions, Dominique(?) told me they don’t have any for the 996 WC bar. Be very careful when rotating the bar back, it can scuff the headliner (unless the scuff is too deep, you can carefully sandpaper them out).
Looks like you got it done, but I’ll share my experience.
I discovered that with the Porsche bar, which this looks similar to, you lay it in with the top of the hoop in the back and pull it towards the front, while scooting the legs backward into place. It went in like butter, and I was able to remove it myself. The other trick I found was to use grade 8 threaded rod instead of bolts for the front mount, which allows you to thread the rods through the large openings without cross threading and then slide the bushing over the rod, and then double nut the rod.

Thanks Tom!
we’ve yet to finalize the install & these tips will certainly help.

Raised with liftbars and feeling safe under beefy Harbor Freight stands. Getting ready to replace leaking reservoir, water pump of unknown age, and thermo (installing low temp). Using garden hose gonna try to backflush case, radiators, and heater core. For coolant pink Zerez G40 Porsche approved.
I know recall of Harbor Freight stands but different part number than the ones I have.
Taught my 19 year old daughter to drive a clutch in my 996. She did great, 45 minutes only one stall and very few jumpy starts. Moved from a lot to the street and she drove us home. Learned that the 996 is a great forgiving car for those learning to drive a manual. More lessons to come before she can try out my S2000 and NSX.
Not a major one. 10 minute work with Covid in my body.. I changed Front Hood Strut, I wanted to change the rear one but be aware. apparently it is not the same to the Convertible as the others.. So i need to return the wrong and and wait for the correct!
Transmission mount the cushioning material is almost completely gone and looks like bolt is floating in the bushing. Seems like should have been large vibrations but car ran fine and I only noticed a slight vibration off idle then mild harshness at mid RPMs.
Automatic transmission so will purchase the bracket instead of pressing out and in new bushings.
