Somebody should make a 996 headlight kit for the GTS

Got my new to me 2000 Cab with Tip deferred maintenance caught up including IMSB Solution, UAOS, new Coils, half shafts, water pump, transmission service (seals, pan gasket, fluid), all the plastic hoses & oil fill, etc. If it needed replacement then it got replaced.

Shout out to Dan Crytzer at Deutsche RennSport in Pittsburgh, PA. Awesome mechanics with reasonable pricing and the best customer service I’ve encountered in YEARS!!!

I’ve got 2... Aluminum for the warm/summer months and a Black Delrin (I did silver paint fill in the shift pattern numbers and center seam - it was a pita... if I had to do it again, I’d pay the extra $ to get it with the fill done) one for cold/Winter driving. The aluminum one is actually painful to use when it’s cold, and it takes forever to warm up!

It doesn’t allow the ashtray to open, but it keeps it from snapping open (it’s an oil/gel filled gear). The little plastic feet that mount to the ashtray get brittle over time and break off...Unfortunately, although it’d be easy to replace, they’re not readily available. 😩

You are absolutely correct, I now have a project, to fix it one way or another.

Default 996 C4 new suspensions

While we're upgrading the suspensions (H&R sport springs and Bilsteins B8s all round) we found that the boots on the CV joints were shot and leaking grease. I'm thinking of removing the whole front transmission and converting the C4 to a C2. Any thoughts? Good idea or bad idea?
Last week I used my new QuickJack for the first time to fix my slacking ebrake. Pictures attached.

Purchased a spare set of front amber headlights and rear amber tailights for an early 996 off of eBay. $950 shipped and taxed to death. All in excellent condition. I thought I did well.

You're using the Quick jacks the wrong way, the yellow labeled end is the heavy (rear engine) side.

I knew something didn’t look right, but couldn’t put my finger on it.
