Hey Bill all I can say is you must not have it in there correctly. Mine is very tight and does not move. My cup (on the passenger side) is very accessible and not in the way at all. I use a stainless travel mug and can toss the car around with no spill or movement. I LIKE having it on the floor area also so it does not get in the way of anything. The sound in motion looks like a decent one but that is where my phone holder is so it would get in the way. Still like mine the best
It just doesn't seem to fit right. I'm going to pull of the trim pieces and see what's going on.
Had horrible experiences with the OEM vent-mounted product and saw plenty of other designs that were either expensive, interfered with dash functions, or both. Finally found this one, and was blown away but not only the functionality but also the quality. Price is $25. https://www.ultimatecupholders.com/
Used my brand new QuickJack to lift it and remove the rear wheels to take them to Wheel Wizard. One was bent and both had curb rash when I bought the 996.
I was impressed by the job done on my son BMW by a " Paintless Dent Removal" specialist. This worse a try as it is inexpensive and they can come to your house/ office.
BMW estimate was $1.2 K while the technician did the job for $300 before I return the end lease car.
Got my new audio equipment professionally installed. It's a kenwood dmx7705s headunit with a pioneer backup cam (still hadnt changed backlighting to orange in this pic). I think they did a really nice job. Ended up with the microphone near the dome lights, as I have heard mixed reviews regarding the steering column. Multimedia USB is in the cubby and a second USB just for charging is in the glovebox. The Metra dash kit isnt 100% perfect but its good enough for the price I think. Pics below!
That's My next project! I did the head unit and amp. What speakers did you get and what mods did you have to make to accommodate?
i purchased the larger stock Haes enclosures (with No port) and filled them with two wicked cheap Pyle PLG54 subs from Amazon for $9 each. They are 200 watt peak so I figured it would be worth a shot. They were a tiny bit too big so some sealant was needed to fill gap where the enclosure had little depressions. Sounds way better than stock, not pounding like a normal sub setup would be but good enough for sound quality. Plus it didn’t add any weight like a box would. Overall pretty happy with it. The adapters for the front and rear highs are from car audio innovations. Worked very well.
Looks great. I'm working through installing a Kenwood with the Metra mount kit. I've already moved the HVAC down to the bottom. I'm stuck on the amp. I want to keep the replacement amp by the spare tire. I can't find a 5 channel that will fit. May end up with a small 4 channel and another amp for the subwoofer. Not sure yet.

ever looked at the Soundstream PN5.640D 5 channel? Class D, like 5x10 or something. Would more than do the trick with subs in the doors.
