Well, I finally got 2 sets of parts installed that had been purchased off of rennlist: Function First Yellow Trans Inserts (thanks Nickshu) and GMG racing front thrust arms (thanks Norcal). It was 41F and rainy in Michigan, but both changes felt great (from the limited usage). Will report back...

Hah, I wish! Enjoy it, it is fun to see how fast you really go VS the speedo, as well as if the coolant temp is accurate. My gauge seems to be pretty spot on.

I would like meet him one day. He's been great to do business with and has helped me out a lot along the way.

Specialized ECU Repair flashed an ECU back to stock and replaced both key fobs today. Those guys are good to work with.

Wife bought me Porsche valve stem caps for Christmas! (she's a keeper!) After I washed the car she "forced" me to put them on early!

Lot's of gratuitous pics after the wash today:

New caps:

Notice how the logo, wheel, and valve stem are aligned? (Yes, I'm OCD, all four are like that!)

You done screwed up, son. The crest on the cap is supposed to point to the valve stem!

See those two little holes on the crest cap? Bend a coat hanger so you have a small 90 degree bend on each end, then pop them into the crest and pull. No jack necessary!

Like so:

Yep, already knew that, I wanted to make the valve stems be on the bottom, not just the center cap pointing to it.

Cleaned my radiators and front wheel wells while I was at it.

Bit of a story: I broke loose all four wheels because I had planned to put the car on jack stands, take both bumpers off and clean behind them, change the oil, drop the sump plate and inspect the filter, and replace the engine and cabin air filters. But there was other (family holiday) stuff going on, so I didn’t have time to do more than the front of the car. Because of this, I forgot to torque the rear lug bolts. I drove down the road and heard the noise associated with making that mistake and thought, “I’m positive I torqued all ten bolts on those front wheels.” I pulled over and put on my flashers and a guy that’s been a PCA member for 32 years makes a U-turn, pulls up and makes sure I’m okay. My brother met me and reminded me I’d loosened the rear wheels, which I’d forgotten about, and I tightened them with the torque wrench he brought with him.

Anyway, as if I wasn’t already excited about having this car, the fact that there is such a PCA presence here that people will stop and make sure you’re okay if they see a 911 in trouble really puts the cherry on top of a pretty excellent sundae.

My brother and I will be doing the rest of the afformentioned maintenance stuff and correcting and polishing the paint tomorrow. Hopefully we’ll have time to install the H&R springs on Tuesday.

Center console delete and a dirty drive in the mountains.

Now I just need a black GT shifter and a black 3 spoke steering wheel.

Had to re-read these part over. When you said you "replace the engine", I about fell out of my chair. I see you're talking about the air filter in the engine.
