Try an SAE Hex key that’s close in size.
If that fails, I’d grind the hole until there’s bare metal and then JB Weld a sacrificial hex key.
Make sure the hex key is bare too.
I have 2 spare LN Magnetic plugs just in case I run into issues. (Or any other Houstonian)

Changed the motor oil from Motul to Driven DT-40. Following replacement of the oil filter, I installed the new drain plug and crush washer. Got about 10 ft/lbs. of torque into it and it stripped. I check the bit was fully inserted…but it just gave way so easily. Tried to back it out with no luck. Does anyone have ideas on the best way to remove the damaged drain plug?
try lightly tapping a slightly larger hex bit. It’s worked for me for the drain plug. A larger torx bit might even work too. The aluminum plug is so soft it should be easy to hammer something a little larger to create good grip.
Today I worked on the shifting driver's seat problem in my 03 C4S. Noticed this most during braking (I don't accelerate that quickly).
After reading a zillion posts on various sites, I tried removing the seat to tighten bolts. I found four on each side of the seat (three were T40, one was T50). I tightened each of these just a bit--none were loose, but I was able to add an 1/8th turn or so to each. After reinstalling the seat, I don't notice the shifting of the seat any more. We'll see how long this lasts.
Then of course had to spend 10min getting radio, time, memory seat, and mirror settings all returned to where I had them. Still don't understand why the one-touch window feature goes away each time you disconnect the battery, but I am just happy that 2min of monkeying with the switch gets it to come back.
Design Tek Cats & TopGear Sports Boxes created an Ear Bleeding buzz between 2 - 3K Revs, making cruising very uncomfortable..
"Old" Exhaust came out without too much trouble..
New Exhaust went in just as easily..
Replaced Double Tips for Stock Ovals..
Car had had a Suspension refresh in late 2019, so everything was in good shape inc. Top Mounts etc. Spring swap out was straight forward..
..although unsure why they needed to be Blue..
Had some Genuine GT3 Alloys to bolt on too.. Just love these on a 996.1
BumperPlugs Wiper Delete Plug didn't come with a washer of any way to prevent Water ingress, so used black sealant. Allowed that to dry for a couple of days..
..then carefully removed the excess without using a Blade; just good ol' Elbow Grease and some Goo Gone..

Looks great! Blue springs look good. What did you bolt on for the exhaust?

I’ll be happy to buy the xpipe with the cats. Just pm me. Like the blue springs. Also where did you got the plug for the wiper delete? Thanks Luis in Texas.
You should have messaged me whilst you were here, could have taken you for a Thameside Drive..!
We'll be back likely in the early summer next year. My wife follows Doc Martin and wants to get back for the filming in Port Isaac. I'd be happy this time to talk with some locals about what lockdown was like and how the economy is like, etc. Love to have a ride around the Thames. Took the dinner cruise last time a couple of years ago.
Sitting on my *** in the waiting room waiting for a state inspection. Making the best of the time trying to catch up with customers who called or emailed while I was on vacation.

LOL! Another Doc Martin fan! Acorn is pretty much the only streaming channel we watch.
My wife watches it and has been great there during filming a couple of years ago. It’s a bit different than Hollywood, after a take, the actors come out and mingle with people, take a selfie with them, so she’s met most of them. She has a fairly popular Facebook page with locals from port Isaac for the purpose of connecting fans with local business to make it easier to get there and stay, get around.
You do realize that there's another bleeder on the inside of the front/rear calipers?
Sooo... That's a big d'oh moment from me. I didn't realize that and guess I'll be putting the bleeder back on with the car in the air and wheel off... Good news is it should be fast now that I've used that motive bleeder once before.
Drove it for the first time since June. Had to bring it to the glass shop for a windscreen replacement to remedy my expired inspection sticker. Brought an OEM windshield seal for them to install.
It was certainly nice to be back behind the wheel 🙂
