Agreed - installed my Numeric pedals last week and that ball-in-bracket put up a good fight but totally worth it!

Anybody see the headlights on the Porsche GT? Looks a lot like a car built more than 20 years ago, those "ugly" lights on a 996.

Had a windshield banner put on. I’m going to get a strip of 5% tint applied on the inside to black it out.

Dropped her off at the shop for IMS solution pre-qualification and install along with RMS, AOS and clutch plus whatever else they come across. Miss her already.

Got new liftbars and Esco jackstands. Now i can get under the car easily and safely.

Took the wheels over to the tire store to have new Sumitomo HTR Z5's installed. Much nicer than the old worn out tires - quieter, grippier, smiler!

Is there any specific OBD scanners that work well with the 996? Looking to buy one and really looking for help, I buy a lot of tools from Harbor Freight and I know they have scanners but would go else where for a good one. Thanks for any help.

Try Search on this forum, lots of discussions about OBD readers/scanners.

Put the 2022 reg sticker on my technically illegal replica plate.

And then put the plate on the car. We'll see how long it takes me to get pulled over.

I like the plate. Where did you get it?

I replaced my water pump, coolant tank, thermostat, and belt on my '99. What a pain in the butt. The coolant tank was extremely easy but the water pump, especially the long bolt right next to the crank pulley was a complete pain in the butt. It leaked after I put it back together too so I removed everything again and retorqued and it now seems to be holding fine. My Airlift vacuum tool only pulled around 15 PSI of vacuum (the instructions recommend 24-26) but the vacuum didn't bleed down so hopefully there are no leaks.

The pump and thermostat were original! I was very surprised.

Default Installed gt3 console delete today

Used a YouTube video of a British guy installing one from the wrong side. Happy with the look and additional knee room.

Looks good. I did this mod too, but you must have a weird anatomy to say you have more knee/leg room after doing this.

Took the car for some errands. Tidied up the garage a bit so I could get to the work bench. Started working on the conversion of a manual steering wheel to a paddle shifted version with the help of a couple of posts in various forums. Ended up looking pretty much the same, but when I went to test with one of my meters for continuity, whether the switch closed was dependent upon how tight the screw was turned and if I grabbed the top of the paddle, it didn't always make contact. Back to the drawing board...
