That's what I was afraid of. So this is the same embrittlement problem as the AOS cooling nipple on the top? Yuck! So the strategy for a 'forever' car is to change all the hoses you can find and not worry for the next 20 years. I'll go dig up De Jeepers list. Thanks.
i went a little overboard for one bad clamp, but i think most of our cars r due for new hoses in the engine compartment.
Bought the car in September and hated the double din unit in there. Removed the double din unit and the metal frame holding it all in. Need to clean up the wires because they are spliced to hell and back. Also need to remove the gps wire that goes under the weather stripping and a little stick on antenna on the roof. Also going to start removing the center console as there’s a usb and iPhone plug in that runs under that and out of the bottom of the passenger seat. Going to relocate climate back up top and put original radio in and get a GT3 console delete.
Plugged in the og radio and worked great and sounded perfectly fine so that’s great news.
once I get those cables out going to list this unit on eBay and really just try to get enough out of it to get the GT3 delete. Also need a climate faceplate surround which is on suncoast. Only thing I need to check your advice on are the tabs seem to be filed down on the plastic that the plate clips into but i should be able to come up with something if that’s the case? Added pics below
I've had to replace that hose because of that plastic molded fitting. You should replace it pre-emptively because it will blow at the most inoppurtune time. If you even look at that hose funny it will break and blow.
I you have to drive the car while waiting for the hose, I'd throw some good epoxy on there at the very least (maybe do the cracks with superglue/cyanoacrylate first)... This should protect it from just letting go ***** nilly...

It's minor miracle that your OEM CDR-220 still works with the state of that wiring.
Unfortunately the double DIN conversion meant that someone took a Dremel or hacksaw to your OEM dash panel, so I think the only way to reliably go back is to see if you can find an OEM panel on eBay or a replacement one on Pelican or autoatlanta.
I presume you were able to use the OEM plugs in the back of the radio and the original amp/speakers are in place? If so, then you just need to get the structural piece of the dash sorted out. Depending on your year, you may have had pop-out cup holders above the original head unit as well.
Yes I am going to fix the splicing of the harness next but every speaker was working just fine. I need to see pics of the opening with everything removed in stock form so I know what is chewed up/what to buy.
Guess I am a little confused and if I’m going to need a whole surround. On suncoast parts the carbon fiber piece looks like it has the plastic pieces for the climate and radio but the basic one the pic doesn’t indicate that.
rino924 - Buy the frame from them and find the trim pieces used. Paint them all yourself, if you want, before you install the frame. Been a while but I recall the vent louvers are fairly easy to remove before paint. You’ll have the proper config in the flavor you desire and save several Benjamin’s.
I restored the hydraulics of my 2002 Cab with the help of Cabriolet Hydraulics instructions and rebuild services. I had no way of knowing if ALL I needed was to rebuild the cylinders and refill the system. The hydraulics failed two owners ago and they had both just been manually moving the top after opening the clamshell under power for more than 8 years. I'm the first person to care enough to spend $500 on making it right.
It was a rare nice day so I also pulled it out to give me some more room in the driveway and reinstalled my freshly powdercoated sport design II's.

Little confused by this. By trim are you saying the surround? I don't need to get anything to paint. Just need to see if the plastic bracket on the inside is what I need since it is filed down and needing replaced?
Unboxed the new driver's side seat belt receiver that came today.
My air bag light came on out of the blue a few weeks ago and after a search I saw that this was a common 'thing' with these cars. I used DeOxit on it but it only worked for one drive. If this new receiver doesn't fix it, I'll spend the extra $30 for the Full Monty repair.

I really like your car and the wheels are a very nice touch. I would love to see my bronze MY02's on it as well but think you did real well with the SD II's.
If I was to add an unprovoked .02 - drop that car as low as you can Would be my perfect Cab...

Where did you get it from? How much $? I need one of these, but don't want to go for $120 (new)... Hey, maybe you can do me a favor. Do you have/know how to use a OHM/Voltmeter? If you could take a resistance reading across all pins it would be awesome...
