The R Turbo of Bill has a consistent output of 490-500BHP during these 9 second runs based on the long Gs, with some higher and lower peaks, but it runs very strong across the whole rev range in 3rd to 5th gear, a very nice flat curve that I have only seen in very few cars, it keeps delivering its power all the way through 6700 RPMs, this performance at conservative boost is what makes it my personal favourite.

OK. See my 6th gear run in that thread. Height variations make a huge difference in these types of runs.

I ran a 1 shift 7.7s today. 77 deg F, 2/3 tank of 99 octane blend, on 19" Michelin Sport Cups (N rated). Will post the chart when the datalogs get downloaded later.
EDIT:
Went out with some of the other 6 speeders today to Lonestar Motorsports Park. We ran the 60-130mph event in pretty ideal weather - 75-78F, low humidity, cloudless sky. My previous recorded best was 8.4 seconds in 90F weather and a slipping clutch. Today the run was with the new AWE stage II Sachs clutch, AWE exhaust, AWE/GIAC ecu "Race" program, BMC airfilter, PES ltw 19" wheels with MPSC tires, 99 octane blended fuel at 2/3 tank. Only driver no passenger, no weight reduction tricks otherwise, and stock VTG turbos, manifolds, intercoolers.
Here is the 1 shift run:

Now the 2-shift run
![](http://www.picvault.info/images/537056576_60-130b.jpg)
Notice I am not powershifting at all. As a matter of fact,at 300ms my shifts just suck!!

Shifts look pretty good to me ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
~7.9s for 2 shift 60-130 is pretty bloody quick for a podgy 997tt !!!
Do you have any idea of running weight ?
Its obviously small potatoes but what would the 6 bling hp estimation be for these runs

Thanks TB. Published weight of the car is 1535kg, and I weight about 80kg. One difference between my car and stock is the wheel/tires. The Pilot Cups I had on today weigh 4lbs less per corner than the stock PS2's, and my wheels are 6lbs less per front and 8lbs less per rear corner. 44lbs of rotating weight total removed from the car, which is substantial. The 6bling rating for the exhaust/ecu package is only 510whp.

1535kg
I thought these cars were weighing in at 1590 odd kg when the mags tested them ?
With the "race program" and "loopy juice" (I'm not sure what you had blended in the tank but it sounds way more exotic than Euro 98 RON ?) what would the RWHP estimation be ?

You are correct TB! I re-checked again and the published weight by Porsche for a 6spd manual is 1585kg or 3494lbs. The fuel I used at 99 AKI octane (RON +MON)/2 would be equivalent to 103-104 MON (euro) octane.
I mixed 5 gallons of 93 octane (similar to 98 euro RON) with 6 gallons of 104 octane unleaded racing gas (close to 108 RON!!). I have only heard of one dyno with the "race" program on a car with the post-turbo exhaust mods, and that was by AWE. I have never seen the #'s printed or advertised anywhere, but I was told between 540-560awhp. I was told program uses mainly more aggressive timing and no more peak boost to achieve the gains. The dyno figures for their car as reference was about 440awhp stock and 510awhp with exhaust and 93 octane (US) ecu program.
Considering that my 60-130 time is actually less than what EVO ran with their car using the larger modded VTG's, headers, intercoolers, I am very satisified with the results. The best figures for another EVO car with the same larger VTG setup was 7.79s by ESu in Finland last week running at 49F on a closed track. ESu's time was a 2 shift pass, which should drop another 0.2s or so if he did a 1 shift. EVO's advertised times (7.9s) for their car were also done at 1000' altitude and nearly 40C.

It is a great time for sure, running weight at ~1675kg (if your tank was pretty full) The 103/4 RON juice looks like it has really allowed the timing to max out.
That level 2 FVD car (stock VTGs) did a ~7.6s (Rennteam guy) I recall ? so this is right in the same ball park - these are fast times for ~550hp, the very wide power band courtesy of the VTGs must really help - I recall the RS 544hp kit engine dyno curve has a flat power curve @ >540hp from 5000rpm to 6500rpm that is lots of torque - 997tts are impressive

I just looked up the FVD#'s done by WhiteKnight. His run was at 18C, and he achieved it on 98 RON which is quite impressive. The other differences were that his is a tip, and he had removed the cats and installed headers. I would be very interested in seeing what kind of EGT's are being pushed at this power level, and if the new GT2's added cooling channels could be fitted to the TT

At the time Porsche said it was because the tt didn't "need" twin plugs to attain its performance but the real truth was they didn't want to spend the money and 300KW was "enough"......

reply a bit harsh remove anorak and breathe slowly for a few minutes,we dont all know everything, i think the comment about the money is crap with the differnce in value from turbo to n/a i dont think an extra distributor wouldve broke the bank thant comment is probably as inacurate as mine appears to be, the twin plug heads were already in production they probably had to design a single plug head for the tt at more expense, think about what that means in the context of the car its value and porsche, though agree with the performance comment i also read some where, due to its lower compresssion the turbo doesnt need twin plugs though thats probably crap too though having a look at mine i can see they will fit,
nb i read the no room thing on another forum and didnt realy think to much about it.I will make sure i check out my comments validity before posting in future11

The "why no factory twin plug heads on the 993tt?" has come up before. The opinion I expressed then and will repeat now is that there was no need - using twin turbos and motronic Porsche managed to field a 400/400 engine that's tractable yet can still did 0-60 in less than 4 seconds and topped out at 180 mph. And for those whom that wasn't enough they developed 430 and 450 hp upgrades as relatively inexpensive bolt-ons. In its day the 993tt was a genuine supercar and at or near the top the pile. Porsche has no need to play all its cards in one go when it already had a winning hand. All IMHO.
