If you watch BAT, that is a good indicator since those are real purchase prices, not ask, Some of the ask prices you see out there are nuts, but I know of a few real transactions that happened on lower mileage examples that are close to what BAT is seeing. I am in Canada so the market is a bit different here.

These are great cars. 25 year old car (96) with no rattles..amazing. I'm sorry to say mine will be for sale soon. After 9 years of ownership, I've decided to put it on the market. Having my mechanic go through the car now to see what it needs.

Where are you listing your car at? Can you post pictures and mileage?

Considering the Arena Red car I just purchased has 60k miles on it and was bought for 10k less. I'd say it sounds about right.

My car has about 37,000 miles. Slate grey with black interior. If you like the Ruf look, it's a good car. It has Ruf bumpers, rocker panel and steering wheel. I bought the 19" wheels off a guy from Rennlist for $4,500. I had them cleaned up and repainted. My mechanic at Rstrada here in LA (Ruf dealer) says the wheels were made by the factory in Italy that made the wheels for Ruf but the Ruf name is not on them. He's not sure why. My car is at Rstrada now with Arling who owns the shop. If you're from LA, many people know him. The PPI we did revealed the car needs timing chain tensioner cover and reseal lower valve covers. I was quoted $4,500 to $5,000 for the work. I was going to have it done but Arling suggested to have the next owner do it since you might want to do other things once you're in there that would be cheap since the car is apart.
The car has never been in an accident. Paint meters correctly. However, their are some dark freckles in a few places on the car under the clear coat. I should have pictures soon. Let me know if you're interested and I'd be happy to talk to you.

been following this thread! finally took the dive for a 993TT. I almost bought 5 in the last 3 years but somehow each of them had something quirky or just didnt feel right. This one seriously was everything i wanted and more. The shop i take my GT cars did all the recent maintenance and has all the paperwork since day one.
appreciate everyone's input!

My thoughts are the 993TT will continue to increase in value. There were around 1,900 sold in the US, and likely 70% still around or less due to accidents, neglect, shipped to other countries, or damaged/extreme high miles, etc. - Let's say 1,300 decent/nice 993TT available (only 612 were 97 models so may be 475-500 of them likely around so even more rare). Of course, the last of the air-cooled and they have incredible looks, sound, and they feel/drive like a true sports car. Side note, everywhere I drive my 993 people look at it - that didn't happen in my 2015 991 Turbo S. After someone gets inside they comment on the sound of the "ping" when closing the door, the smell of real leather and the simple analog dash. Anyone into driving wants a 993 versus the newer models because the newer vehicles do a lot of the heavy lifting/driving for the driver. The 993TT is still very fast for modern car standards and you can get a thrill at lower speeds. In my 991 Turbo S I had to drive over 100+ mph to feel like I was moving...! the 992 has less of a feel than the 991. For all these reasons I believe prices will continue to rise over time.
Also, it seems buyers are into resto-mod 911s (and other vehicles like, LR Defenders, Broncos) and the cost of a quality new/nice restoration-mod porsche is as much as $250K with less performance. To get over 408 hp you have to pay a premium for the resto-mod (that's the case at the porsche shop here in Northern California) so $150-185K seems cheap for the 993TT. Other thoughts, the 993s are 25 years old and in many jurisdictions there are no emissions test versus, for example, a newer 996, and they are much easier to repair than modern cars with computers, etc. As the newer cars get older (think 10 years from now) they could be a pain to diagnose, expensive repairs and most new cars depreciate (except GT2s, or GT3s) rather than stay flat or appreciate some over time. Anyway, there was a 2014 Carrera in the shop today with computer glitches outside of the warranty. Finally, all current/new Porsche collectors will certainly want a 993TT in their collection so there will be even fewer of them available. Just my overall thoughts on this issue but I expect more 993TT with low miles will soon sell for over $200K. All nice low miles 993TT for sale now are "asking" over $200K on the Autotrader, eBay, Excellent, etc. sites and only a few are for sale. Not dozens flooding the market so prices should continue to rise. One other note, the sale prices on https://www.classic.com/m/porsche/911/993/turbo/ don't usually (one I noticed does) include the buyer's premium which is $5K BAT in the over $100K price range, Sotheby 10%, Barrett Jackson 10%, Silverstone 12% so their sales prices are inaccurate. Also, the high mileage and repainted cars should be removed from the value comparison calculation as "not a comparable vehicle".
