I'd be interested depending on the price.

As mentioned in an earlier post, the price will be between $80-90 depending on how many iterations it takes to get to a final design.

gmorat - do you know how strong printed pieces are compared to solid ABS? Would be a shame if the reinforcements cracked apart due to their layered construction. Sorry, I don't know very much about the material properties of 3D printed stuff.

Sorry, missed that. Count me in at that price.

I have a set here and they are strong. The layering is diagonal in one direction and then diagonal the other so they feel tough. Laminated to the crap door pocket will make them even stronger.

When I removed my drivers side pocket for measurements the plastic disintegrated so these can't come soon enough for me.

First prints were a bust but lessons are learned and applied to the next iteration.

Solid ABS is very difficult to print as it has a tendency to curl.

gmorat - If/when you get yourself a 3D printer, you can mess around with a bunch of materials nowadays. Like you said, ABS curls, so the newer materials people are creating are awesome. I always print in PLA and the parts are strong and dont delaminate if designed properly.

What material are you using for the prints? I was thinking Nylon would be the best for this project.

PLA isn't as resistant to heat as ABS. Can you say as to why you'd use Nylon? What properties does it have that would make it ideal for this application?

Thanks

I may put this one up on Shapeways depending on what their finish looks like. The heat cycling properties are good enough by a long shot. That way anybody who wants to order a set can just do it through there.

Nylon prints are prohibitively expensive. Holy cow, the cost is 3 to 5 times the cost for nylon prints!

Very interested if it will it be possible to obtain a piece to repair driver's side only.
Passenger's side is already fixed...

For the moment I would say no, you'd be better off repairing the other side yourself.
