Brake job…new factory pads, vibration dampers, sensors, caliper bolts, caliper screws. Fortunately all four original rotors were in good condition…(no cracks and just enough material)…was able to have them turned and evened for twenty bucks each. Bled the system with my newly acquired (on-sale from Bimmerzone.com thanks to Rennlist) Motive Black along with two bottles. First time using a pressure bleeder, should have got on board with these years ago! Followed the Steve Weiner bedding procedure and brakes function perfectly and zero noise.
Speedometer rebuild to resolve a sticking pointer when under 10-15mph (would pop up over 10-15mph or when I flicked the lens) and “while in there” replace the odometer sprocket. Plastic trim tools made walking-out and removing the speedometer super easy, and silicone spray on the rubber gasket allowed it to slip back in just as easily. Palo Alto Speedometer, one week turn around.

which plastic tools did you use the remove the odometer? I need to replace my gear as well?

I applied some dialectic grease to the connector pins before reinstalling.
Harbor Freight $8 for the tools, but any similar type should work, I used the two of flat wide blade end tools on opposite sides of the trim ring to walk out the speedometer, blade between the gauge rim and rubber gasket as shown in the video.

Checked operation of both fans:
Remove relay R04 (oil cooler blower).
Jump terminals 3(30) and 7(87c) for slow speed.
Fan should run, even with the ignition off. If the fan runs in slow speed, your ballast resistor should be okay.
Jump terminals 3(30) and 5(87) for fast speed.
Fan should run, even with the ignition off.
Repeat for the A/C condenser fan, but by removing relay R14.
All good - I replaced both of the failed stock ballast resistors in April 2010, so my home-made versions have lasted at least as long as the 'Porsche' ones.

Went on my longest road trip so far with my car, 3 hrs each way to Bangor, ME with my best friend to watch his kids participate in the NE track chamionpship. One of the girls is my god daughter. My friend commented: "this is a nice road trip car" rolled 137k on the trip.

Working through the 90k maintenance and catching up with some "like to dos" ... distributor, plugs, new brake lines, fluids - trans, brakes, oil ... and some clean up to the calipers

RS side skirts and rotor hats
Finally finished the RS aero parts from Better Bodies.
Since 2009, I have had their wing and front splitters, but I saw their side skirts were on sale, so I finally jumped and finished the job.
Also refinished the rotor hats while the wheels were off and cleaned up the stock black calipers. Now someone tell me that I’d be an idiot for upgrading to RS or turbo big red brakes when the car really doesn’t need them, I don’t drive it on track but the idea still calls to me.
I should probably start saving my pennies because the Macan GTS is up for sale and the 2024 Giulia Quadrifoglio has been ordered. There will be goodies to buy for it.

I just got my "new" 1996 993 on the road after a little refresh work. The check engine light is popping on and off. I tried scanning it with my Autel MaxiCOM MK808S-TS OBD2 Scanner, but it seems it doesn't recognize the 993. Can you guys confirm this is the case? If my $600 scanner is useless on this car, what would you recommend?

That sounds strange. How are you connecting? I use a standard OBD2 scanner and can pull whatever codes come up.
For easiest connection, suggest starting car and then connecting the OBD2 scanner, then pulling codes.
