Very nice! I always felt it was side-to-side stresses that weakened the strap not the outward stresses, so I did something similar 4 years ago when I saw the strap start moving. In my case I coated a few stainless steel wedges in JB Weld , tapped them flush, then sanded and painted them. A couple bucks. Your solution is even easier. It's too bad the gaps on the sides of the strap are different in every car otherwise it would be a simple matter to design a part anyone could install as a preventative measure. Thanks for sharing your solution.

I passed California smog with my 96 with zero issues which I feel is an accomplishment lol. I've put about 500 miles on her the past 9 days so I'll be l giving it a good wash before I leave on vacation for the month of July.

Yes it is mounted in the center console. I've tried 3 different cup holders and this is the best one IMHO.

No drilling at all. It comes with a bracket that is held by two existing screws hidden beautifully under the center console.

Added eBay $28 phone mount and a cup holder.

both really add joy when you are doing sprint driving with venti starbucks refresher + Waze. :-)

EBay version did not come with screw. No problem, added 6 x 3/4 black screw!

good cup holder solution. Does the cup holder prevent from the passenger seat to go in its most forward position?

Got my readiness monitors to set on the first go around. Haven't had to consciously do this in over 15 yrs as they always just set with normal driving. Keeping the car below 3000 rpm was the hardest part.

I LOVE Klasse. The only stuff I use. Interesting to do 3 coats of sealant. Nice!
