Hank, I'd've never dreamed you were a young, wet-behind-the-ears whippersnapper of only 32. Listen to me, I'm an old codger of 36!

Scary thing is, JimBob says he was born the same year I was. But my driver's license says 'blonde', so that's definitely not me in his avatar.

I am 22 years old, driving a 97 C2S. Life is pretty good...

I hope to have it forever, but would love to get some brother and sister cars for it in a few years...

I thought I would be the youngest, oh well.

Currently at the fossiliphorous age of 39.
Purchased my first Porsche at the age of 34, second at 35,
and third at 37. According to Einstein's theory of relativity,
the faster we move the slower we age relative to everyone else.
With the right mods, we could achieve speeds of 669,600,000
miles per hour and time would stop. This explains the high count
of young TT owners.

If anyone's still reading this enormous post - I'm 34. First Porsche - I bought mine a week before my brother (now 40) picked up his new 996 C4 Cab. I test drove a 996 every year since it came out and it never did it for me - test drove a 993 C2 over a year ago and I was hit by an epiphany - 12 months later I have my C2S and I cant see myself selling it!
Previous cars include 3 early 1970's VW Beetles (maybe thats where it all began!!), an XR2 (UK readers will know what that is!),BMW 328is, E30 M3, Corvette C5, Z3 M Coupe and now this beauty.

I just had another thought.

I don't know where the law of averages comes in on this, but I really don't see where the average Porsche or 911 owner is a 50-something year old male. I see the dominance of males on this board, but it sure seems like the majority of guys who have responded are in their 30's and 40's. (not that there's anything wrong with a 50 year old owning one )

Anyway, I am just really surprised that most of us are in our 30's and 40's. I kinda thought I was in a small group on this board, glad to know I got other 32 year old guys on here as crazy as me!!

Robert,

By the time we approach 50, and I am getting very close, we give up silly cars like the Porsche and move to more mundane vehicles. I sold my TT last year and replaced it with a low HP convertable for sunday drives.

Rad Racer,
Those are mean looking machines yu got there. Do those things peel up any asphalt from suction when you take a sharp turn?? I hate that you had to sell your baby, but it appears you are not lacking from having fun. Enjoy!!

You don't have to be in your 30's or 40's to be hooked on Porsches. There is a guy in the Chicago Region PCA that I see at De's at Road America. This guy is my idol. He's got to be in his late 60's or 70's, and used to run an absolute beauty of a 356 convertible in DE's. This car looked like it just came from the Porsche museum. In the past couple of years, he's been driving a 993. He's even slower than me on the track, so he could become President Emeritus or Team Mascot for HWFM Racing Team. I was heartbroken to see him spin his 993 beauty into the gravel trap at Canada Corner. But I guess at his age, since there was no significant damage to him or the car, he just took it in stride.

Like I said, he's my idol.

Cheers,

35 now. When I was 34, I thought for some reason I was 35. On my 35th birthday I gained a year ;-)

I'm 31 now, bought my first P-Car (96 993 TT) when I was 30. I traded my F-Car Testarossa for it, which I bought at 28. I guess I got smarter when I turned 30, the F-car just cost a lot more in maintenance. However I do look very young for my age.
