Radical Racer,
Thanks for the link to that forum, it looks like great stuff. Yeah, formula has definitely been educational. I never knew how ignorant I was about cars until I started working on the car and had to learn every detail of how everything works (most people still don't have a clue as to what an instantaneous roll center is). Milliken and Milliken's Race car Vehicle Dynamics is now my bible!
bbeckmann,
Haha, some of the money I made in my entrepreneurial ventures was used to create my Roth IRA (I think I was the only 12 year old to have an IRA) or "useless pieces of paper" as you call them. Yeah, with the economy the way it is, I'm glad I don't graduate for a few more years.

I am about to turn 35, got my car 2 years ago. Wish I had done it sooner. 21 sounds young to own one but whatever. At 16, I was driving a 69 Mustang. I don't miss it that much, except it was easier to have sex in . . .not that I've tried in the Porsche

I'm 47 and bought the 993 when I was 42. First Porsche for me but I have been a fan ever sense I saw a movie filmed in the alps about a ski bum and a woman. Can't even remember the name of the movie.
She owned a 911 and in one scene the guy was pissed off and he was driving it way too fast and sliding from snow bank to snow bank in an oversteer attitude. Sure made an impression on a young punk! I watched Porsche and the different models for a long time but couldn't justify a purchase in my mind.
I kept putting off getting a 911 for various reasons but I am sure glad I plunged in. You young guys are awsome and not letting things in your life be put off.
Cheers!
