So I guess you are going to dip the body, so you want all the seam-sealer off the car? (which explains the removal of the various plugs)

The front jack points almost look bent...must be the angle of the shot.

cheers,

Mike

Owen was welding the cage to the upper shell when I took the photos. We're pretty close now, I think the plan is to take the shell down for stripping & coating when we go to collect the finished 9m11RS shell (this project is in the 964 forum).
Can't wait to see the next part of the build on the 9m11RSR.

You would never think that there were so many holes in the chassis pan until you remove all of the plugs!!

Drain holes for the optional seafaring 993 model. There was the regular 993, the C4S, the C2S, and the HMS 993.

Nice to see an update on this thread - I was just wondering about it yesterday as I was looking through your RSR build thread. Great work as always - looks like a completely new CS shell.

So, you know that you're going to have to explain every detail regarding the Arena Red 993 speedster on the lift, right Colin? Might as well start now....

US bumperettes??

The freshly treated and dipped body and frame is a wonderful sight!

This F420 Spyder was brought to our local cars and coffee event last Saturday.

Something about the matte finish that is intriguing but question maintenance and durability.

Milestone moment last week when the customer dropped off the donor car for the project, in the shape of a LHD 993 Carrera 2 complete with full 993RS running gear including engine, gearbox, suspension, brakes & interior. It's going to be a week or three before we get around to stripping it as we've got a huge priority job of the current 9m11RS build to be going on with, however we'll probably put hands on the donor when we have any available slot so that we can use the panels from the car for body alignment pre-painting.
