Frank-- Welcome to Rennlist. Your 964 Speedster looks great.
My kind of RLer: your first 3 posts have been on Speedster-related threads.
Ted-- 1st mentioned by another RLer ~Jan '07. I personally inspected it early '08. Currently pictured in my avatar.
RLer J.A.W.S. has also seen it in person.
Some history info starts @ page 11 of the "Speedster type 993 photo thread" (same thread where I think Fraenkie993 made his 1st-ever post, on this same black Speedster.)
993 Speedster talk most anywhere makes me happy, & I'm often the king of distraction & OT (just look back on this thread ... guilty as charged: I brought up this black Speedster in post #18) ... but consider further non-Butzi posts there?
Many more details & photos of her there.

@Ted: i know this wide body black one since a couple of years, always the same owner, but never used. If i remember correct it was an accident convertible car, which became wide body and Speedster in a unknown garage. The man who bought it wasnt happy with the conditions, so he brought it (2 or 3 years ago) to another garage, the owner Gerhard is a friend of mine, and he got a lot of money to make the car much better. He worked some months on the car, then every part fitted. I saw the car last time about 1,5 years ago, its a really really nice car. The price until some weeks was 75tEUR, now it seems it is only more 42tEUR, but how will you estimate such a car? I own not only my Speedster, but a second Porsche, a 993 Conv., maybe i will offer it to him to switch? If anybody is interested i can help and try to get the information you need in US, dont hestitate to contact me (and i dont earn money with this deal) ;-)
@Curve lover: thanks for your welcome, and sorry for a little bit OT, but from now on i quit this here.....
Best wishes

Frank-- All good; glad to hear from a fellow RLer who's seen the black one in person. Your account of its history is similar to what I learned while talking to its seller & its maintainer in 2008. Appears it's FS by the same owner &/or maintenance facility where I inspected it. (They seem very good people. I retain contact info for both, but haven't heard from the owner in over 6 months.)
It was hard to walk away from >1.5 years ago, but the uncertainty of USA Department of Transportation importation restrictions can be sizable for Americans. For more: "Speedster type 993 photo thread."
The photographs I took of it in person start here.
New photo of Butzi's...

I have that issue somewhere...good article and SCarGo did a lot of work on the motor...3.8 litre, knife-edged crank, etc and good looking rollbar hoops....fortunately they were not responsible for the Strosek body kit or the bling-bling chrome wheels

Check out this Strosek "steel" 964 bodied 911 speedster. Originally purchased new in 1994 by Barry Bonds as a white 911 speedster. The car then had Strosek body kit made for it by hand in STEEL. Only the front and rear bumper mouldings are fiberglass. Powered by an Andial built big bore conversion 340 horsepower 3.8 liter H-6 engine with many upgrades and a 5 speed manual 993 transmission. Equipped with air conditioning, cruise control, power windows, Front fog lights, 4 wheel ABS disc brakes, dual front air bags, chrome alloy wheels, leather, and more.... Custom features include an Alpine flip face multimedia stereo system with DVD and navigation, 993 third brake light, 993 gearbox, Porsche "Big red" brakes, custom twin hoop roll bar, color coded gauges, 993 induction and headers, way to much too list. Car has been in 911 & Porsche magazine, as well as a Dream Cars 2000 calender. Truly unique!
