Exclamation ^ ^ 3.8 Speedster

Related cross-post from Parnelli's "Did Porsche make a WB 993 Cabriolet?" thread:

It's the normally-aspirated one, of the two Speedsters I flew to look at in Europe, & that RLer J.A.W.S. saw many times where he worked.
IIRC, the owner told me it may have had front-end damage before its conversion.

Photos & details on page two of the "Cabriolet in wide body?" thread.

Higher-resolution photos from my trip are featured on pages 10-14 of the "Speedster type 993 photo thread."

FS for €74k in Jan '07; see RLer 964Polar's "Speedster 993 in Italy" thread.

Default 1995 Speedster type 993, Butzi's narrow-body

At Keystone, I made the acquaintance of a 993 Speedster enthusiast who's friends with F.A. 'Butzi' Porsche. At my request, he just sent me photographs from the drive back in ~1995 with Butzi & his below Speedster. In fact, when I e-mailed him the youTube link to the video of that drive, he pointed out .... HE'S IN THE VIDEO.

To a hopelessly addicted 993 Speedster addict (me) ... that's beyond words cool: he's in the video. He was there.... drool/ dream/ mental shutdown now...

I'll get those pix posted sometime. In the meantime, enjoy this very recent shot!

I just relayed your incredible compliment to Speedy. She's already blushing!

993 Speedsters always keep good company

Speaking of those they associate with:
Dog-lovers will dig an upcoming 1995 photo of Butzi & 'friend' in his Speedster type 993.

Those not fans of claws on one-of-a-kind cars may cringe!
(Maybe now we know why it had to go the Porsche Museum's renovation shop )

'Til I get that uploaded: a distant shot of its right rear wheel ... OH, & a better view of the company next door!

Default What's the factory name for Butzi's color?

hidfusion-- Welcome to Rennlist. Anyone who uses their first post to ask about Speeedsters is allright by me.

The original poster of this thread, as well as RLer c4sdave are incredible resources for 964 Speedsters. You may wish to contact them directly (private message, etc.), as well aking your question on the 964 forum. While you're at it, use the opportunity to post an introductroy thread about you & your unique Speedster. Make sure you post pictures of your Cobalt Blue beauty.
Again -- welcome!

Speaking of rare colors, here's a question about what color Butzi's 993 Speedster is. Cross-posted from the "993 Paint to Sample Pics" thread:

I'm guessing it's similar to the below Panamericana prototype, if anyone has the name for that hue. Let's just call it "Butzi Green," shall we?

Two posts with references here on RL--
"The metallic green car was Ferry's own RS"
& "356 in his custom color, which is sort of a green/blue metallic."

The Americana prototype's done in a similar shade. There's enough press written on it that we can hopefully find the name.

Probably wrong (what else is new? LOL) but it looks very much like Aventura Green.

^^ Tim to the rescue

I agree -- same green I was thinking, but suspect it's officially confirmed somewhere, like on a familiy vehicle on display at a museum, etc.
Some Porsche family cars seem to be consistently be in this shade.
