Every once in a while, your roads cross with someone so incredible, you never forget them.

I'm dedicating this part of the thread to one in particular that changed my life.

For many of us whose life journeys were enriched by Chuck Sertich, RLer cSertich, you instantly know the type of high-spirited soul I'm talking about.

RLer 993BillW started threads where you can read much more about this great man:

There are long stories behind my efforts to meet Chuck, but to summarize:
His condition didn't allow him to drive his beloved 993 for the past couple of years.
In the meantime, he posted enthusiasm for my red jalopy, & sent me many humbling & hilarious private messages about his desire to see 'Speedy.'
After two big plans to meet Chuck in CA where my car was, I eventually shipped Speedy out east toward him.

We met up last Nov, then again this June. Related threads about those two memorable moments:

- Chuck's "yesterday what an unbelievable day!"

In his honor, below are some shots of those all-too brief moments, that will shine in my memory forever

Chuck had made it to PorschePalooza for years.
We planned to go last November, but when a sudden trip to the emergency room changed all of that, Chuck made it clear he wouldn't be happy 'til he saw pictures of my car at Palooza.
As JoAnne has said, speaking of her fellow enthusiast from a shared homeland, you don't want to cross a determined Croatian
Well - now there's a happy 993 enthusiast watching from way up high

...Today I got an e-mail from the official event photographer, RLer kShipp (Kelly Shipp).
He knew about Chuck's wish, & just shared his first photograph of 993s at November's Palooza!


With Kelly's mastery at making this other-worldly view, I wonder if Chuck's ethereal vantage point inspired him:

Great, touching post CurveLover.

I don't know Chuck personally, but from what I've read and heard he's a great person, and everything CurveLover says. Looks like he had a great last year.

I do wish his family, friends and loved-ones all the best. May he Rest in Peace.

Touching is a perfect word for Chuck: he touched many lives, & made us better with his easy smile, friendly charm, & passion for 993s. He loved connecting with fellow RLers, plus Porsche Club of America members, etc.

Chuck's humor touched many...
From my first PM with Chuck he always amazed with his quick wit and humor. Talking to him in June, & even after the July seizure was no different: so high-spirited, warm, and sharp while we chatted. An inspiration.

Great example:
When Chuck got back from work during my June visit, he couldn't find his glasses.
He called the office to tell his secretary he left them there. While on the phone, he noticed them laying in front of him at his house.
Without skipping a beat, he instantly said in a perfectly serious tone, "Now, if you're done wasting my time, my glasses are right here."
The whole room erupted in guffaws A classic Chuck moment.

If it's worth having, it's worth waiting for???
It was worth it, being able to share them with Chuck would have made all the difference in the world.
He woulda' been thrilled with Kelly's work!
