The wheels on Speedy are the only obvious parts newer than a 993. Fuchs windmill wheels were featured on the iconic 1989 wide-body Speedsters, and Jäger wanted to complete Speedy’s homage to the classic 911 Speedster look. The problem was that Fuchs at the time didn’t make a size appropriate for the 993. Luckily, Porsche decided to put into production the “911 Sport Classic” wheel for its limited edition 911 Sport Classic in 2010. A modern update to the classic Fuchs of yesteryear, they look like they belong on Speedy from the get-go, and thanks to an intrepid Porsche Cars North America executive the set on the red Speedster was the first set installed on a customer’s car.

No modifications should be necessary to mount mine on a 993 wide-body. Have not seen them on a NB.
Speaking of spacers for Otto Fuchs', IIRC most choose to place spacers on the rear wheels for WBs, & maybe narrow-bodies, too.

I tried some other OEM wheels but having seen Jager / Curve Lover's wheels on his GR 993 Speedster there was only one set of rims calling and and tempting me to spend yet more £/$ on my car.

After the disappointing sales of the 964 Speedster, Porsche decided that it wouldn’t officially build a 993 version of the iconic open-top Neunelfer (unless your name was Ferdinand Porsche or Jerry Seinfeld).
Therefore, those wanting a 993 Speedster had to create it themselves. Some, like the car we featured in issue 135, have been finished so well they could be mistaken for factory builds, while others have missed the mark spectacularly.
Ninemeister’s ‘9m93 Speedster S’ builds fall firmly into the former category, as this truly stunning car (one of just four such creations by Colin Belton’s firm) attests. And, what’s more, it could be yours as it’s currently for sale at esteemed specialist, Hexagon Modern Classics.
Starting life as a 993 Carrera Cabriolet, Ninemeister’s Speedster transformation was nothing less than extensive, adding Turbo-look flared rear arches, evoking the spirit of the popular 3.2 Carrera Speedsters of the Eighties.
Belton’s engineering expertise came to the fore here too as, unlike many conversions, Ninemeister strengthened the body shell in order to ensure the 993 Speedster handled as well as a factory Coupe.
Weighing in at under 1,350kg, the Ninemeister 9m93 Speedster S is claimed to be faster accelerating than a standard 993 Carrera, following the ethos of the original 356 Speedster.
Each Ninemeister Speedster was built bespoke for its original owner, with the 993 version for sale at Hexagon finished in Blazing Orange. Inside the grey leather interior (featuring RS-style door cards) comes with orange piping and, with the car having done just 8,400 miles, appears as new.
Genuine, gloss black, 19-inch Fuchs alloys complete the look while a KW suspension kit with lift ensures that you can cruise down even the bumpiest streets without fearing for this stunning car’s coachwork.

I am trying to find a picture that takes in the enormity of today's luftgekühlt. It might be this! I turned the corner at 8.30am with r_elfer and we were met with this! I got goose bumps!
This thread needs a bump as the 993 Speedsters in here are just phenomenal examples of a car Porsche should have built - they too probably realize that if they're looking at any of these.
Jager's Speedy is one of my all-time favorite Porsches and having done some custom body mods on both my 997 and Cayenne Turbo S, have an idea of what goes into these to achieve the results attained here. He's also got some breaking news on Speedy that he hasn't had a chance to share yet and it's that he's sourced and installed period-correct, magnesium-center Speedline wheels.
They were born as OEM Porsche Motorsports parts for the 'unobtanium' 993 Cup & GT2 racecars, but race cars' offsets don't fit wide-body street 993s. Rennlist is such a great community that luckily a couple members here who knew that Jager was looking for something special & lightweight for Speedy went out of their way to get him in-touch with a collector who had a mint set of these available and they had been modified for wide-body fitment by the specialist that RLers consider the best: Jim Dorociak. Info from Jim was that the wheels used had magnesium centers and for the fronts put together with new inner and outer rims. For the rears, he actually made the inner and outer rims that mate with the centers. As special as Speedy is, so are these wheels as Jim says "I can assure you there is not another set like this anywhere."
Earlier this week, Schuco announced a 1:43 993 Speedster in a color combo recognizable to many here! When researching a color, Schuco surely viewed many pictures of Speedy and painted the model the same. Good size for Tiny Tim to drive to the local "cars on the coffee table."

They are great wheels that match Speedy's Clubsport vibe and unique character! I admit I am still fond of the look of the other Speedlines, the Sport Classic Fuchs, but I have grown to quite like the Speedline wheels. Originally rendered in 16" single-piece for the 993, Porsche contracted Speedline create a similarly styled center that could be mated to a modular wheel. As you say, they are for factory race 993s. They made both 5-lug and center-lock variants. The factory-spec'ced dark grey centers suit the car quite well!
Not for the faint of heart, magnesium wheels require extra care! But they do look great. Just one of many details that make Speedy so impressive. Surely surpassing any late nineties Speedster dreams Porsche fans had of building their own.
