Craig-- Thanks for the post!
Of the three magazines that have run Speedy features, conspicuous how many people consistently walk up & mention that Excellence article.
Says a lot about how much enthusiasts respect the work of RLer ExcMag (editor) & ZMayne (photog/author), etc.

We sped through the last page; here's a 're-print' of the unique top ops collage that closed it out...

Greetings from a Colorado kid who just landed in Southern California.
Asking for a RL helping hand: Know any 997 Speedster owners in SoCal?
Anyone interested in possibly making Speedster photographic history Sunday, July 31, needs to please get in touch with me pronto (send me a PM, or respond with your cell # here).
A couple of friends are bringing their 1989 & 964 Speedsters to the 356 Club's Concours at Dana Point's Lantern Bay Park. We're just one 997 short of having the entire Porsche Speedster line-up represented, a world's-first!
We're planning to pull into the Concours entrance promptly at 8 AM to display together. It's a 356 event, & we need to ensure we don't detract in any way from the Club, as would happen if one 911 Speedster shows up late.

Wow! It's amazing how perfectly proportioned your 993 looks compared to the new 997 speedster. Looks awesome.
I love the new Speedster owner's supplement, which is quirky like mine.
For example, it points out that the owner should get out of the car to open & close the top. Good idea! ...self-critiquing since there are no electric motors in it, just like the lightweight '89 / 964 Speedster top
Speaking of the seats (heated, electric, etc.), I love the RLer's idea who told me he wants to build a custom 997 Speedster with a lightweight interior

Window sticker just says "Custom Color Flat." Guards Red? $5,500 option?
997 Speedsters were only offered in Carrera White & Pure Blue, but red & black are such classic Speedster colors, I knew they'd emerge!
Good work, super sleuth Blue TTop

Maybe 991 Speedsters will take even more inspiration from 993s?
Tony-- We want you to have them!

Also, there is a $1,250 Exclusive option that allows the $5,500 custom color option. Total price for color = $6,750
Cheers,
Tony

Jager was supposed to be sitting on our couch right now sipping a lemonade cooling off and talking POrsche with us. Instead he's (LUCKILY) at an Audi Dealer in Tulsa where he and his car were towed to. I guess he had a nasty flat and something with the overheating on his way to Little Rock. I bet he was wishing he was in cool So. Cal. about now. I can't imagine being stuck on the side of the road in the middle of Oklahoma (REALLY the middle of nowhere) in this terrible heat wave. At least he wasn't in the Speedster.... Oh the joys of traveling in the middle of summer.
We'll get to visit tomorrow, but not for as long as were planning to tonight DARN.

Catching up with JoAnne was by far the coolest , but too quick. Longer visit later!

Yes, here's too COOLER TIMES and no more blown tires because of the heat!
Miss Dana Point. I really do..... on days like today anyway. 111. YIKES! Pic from our last Dana Point show:

^^ That's a VERY COOL shot of you, Robert, Max, & Speedster!
Speaking of Speedsters @ Dana Point, Sam & friends achieved a world's-first:
entire line-up representing Porsche's Speedsters... 356, '89, 964, 993, 997
They were arranged in that order most of the show, for the heritage showcase.

Friday @ Monterey, CA's The Quail, Speedy made friends with another 997 Speedster...
but please, don't tell anyone It was a viewing of two Speedsters that "don't exist":
993 (as Excellence titled their Apr 2010 feature, "One of None")
Guards Red 997 (only advertised in Carrera White & Pure Blue)
