Have a look at the YouTube video of his car - you catch a glimpse there!

I'd love to see what doorpanel design or any other special bits and bob's the factory put in for the 'boss' ... :-)
I was hoping you'd swing by there on your recent European trip

After the above video, & before museum display, Butzi got an update

You'll want to absorb all of the cars for the entirety of this video,
so I won't tell you your Butzinterior money shot's from 2:35 - 3:15.

If anyone's finishing the interior of a 993 Speedster right now: 1080p high-definition still shots & freeze-frames are available from this vid!!!

Also, check out the 'Exclusive' badges on both of the 993s

Yes... or lack thereof. Thanks for the video, is that 'Enya'?

So, I find the use of the 'gathered leather pocket' on his RS doorpanels very interesting indeed. I've seen these in use elsewhere and I've always thought they must have been 'optional' on RS cars ordered by customers who intended to use their cars on the street. The pockets are always the same design and location and would seem to make the spartan RS influenced Speedster interior a much more 'user friendly' place....

^^ Gathered pocket's certainly makes a Speedster / RS interior more user-friendly. ^^

Glad you liked; seemed on target for Butzinterior.

Speaking of videos, I've known the Max Hoffman Speedster story for a long time,
but it took 'til now to realize he's my hero ... thanks to this:

"To finish first you have to finish first." .... So German, .... so Porsche The press started calling the Spyders 'Giant Killers' as they won race after race against Ferrari and Mercedes, taking advantage of the fact that while those cars with double and triple the horsepower and sophisticated systems were in the pits having their 'systems' repaired and their thirsty tanks refilled, the little bullet-proof, gas sipping Spyders just kept lapping them ..... Hm. Isn't that what happened in China when the new 997 Hybrid GT recently ran as a 'guest' in their recent ProGT race ..? Deja Vroom .... Funny the new Spyder gets How Many Miles per gallon???? 70?

I've always been amused by those who 'scoff' at the lowly 4 cylinder 356's and 912's. Only 95-130 horsepower ... when you weigh in at 800kg, it changes the equation .. no? My '55 1500 Super Speedster's 0 to 60 time was 6.6 seconds. My 1987 3.2 Carrera Cabriolet's 0 to 60 time was 6.8 seconds .....

Here's a shot of a later '55 Super I sold in 2000 with about 100 hp, 0 to 60 in 5.5 seconds, Delivered to Max Hoffman in New York in November 1954, so one of the early cars. The new owner had it prepared for the Carrera Panamericana in 2002, lightening it even further. Unfortunately, he died of an annurism a week after the car was finished and his 19 year old nephew inherited it .....

Default Butzi Porsche's 993 Speedster in P-Museum

Hi all,

even though some really holy members here might not appreciate me posting here anymore
Again for everybody to see: if I steppt on anybodys toes, I am sorry for that.
I still can't see where I could possibly have gone wrong, but apologize anyway.
It would make me very happy if we all could bury the hatchet....

Now back on topic: thanks to my friend Matze from Germany I can share some interior shots of the Butzi Mobil.

More can be found on my photobucket Speedster Picture Copendium:
http://s256.photobucket.com/albums/hh195/obersturm/

I really like the colour combination and could almost get used to the walnut dash trimmings.
Amazing how they tried to cover everything in leather (the hardshell seat back PORSCHE decal cover-wow)

Best regards from Australia

Marty

(PS: Hallo Apard, falls du das hier lesen solltest: melde dich doch bitte und sag mir, was ich falsch gemacht habe?)

In fact, I have to quickly post my one & only remaining shot of the Butzi-mobile before folks realize the unending # of cool pix you've got

Hi Jäger,

Thank you Sir for the praise.
Matze is a top bloke and is a real Porsche-Oracle. I think he lives part time in the factory or the museum ;-)

Best regards

Marty

The interior of Butzi's car is unbelievable. I could do without the wood, but I love that leather color!

Wait, what? You did it the old-fashioned way ... by asking? Pretty sure that's against RL rules

Just kidding -- good job!
