Traffic Pro - Bluetooth Connectivitiy
I just bought one of these Traffic Pro units from Ebay and am trying to figure out exactly how to configure using Bluetooth.
1. Do any of you have experience setting it up to use Bluetooth devices ? I'm thinking I'll use it with my cell phone and stream music from my IPOD. I know that Motorola sells devices to send from IDOD to other Bluetooth enabled devices but don't know what I"d need to enable the Traffic Pro. Any thoughts?
2. I'd appreciate any leads on where I can obtain the V2 navigation configuration without paying the $200 - it seems to me as if free updrades should be available once you've purchased one set with the unit.
Thanks so much for any thoughts on either of these!

Matt,
Unless I'm missing something I don't think the Traffic Pro has bluetooth capability. There is a circuit that will connect to an "outside" bluetooth system to mute the stereo and input the phone audio but I believe that's as far as it goes. Some of the Euro versions have bluetooth but not the Traffic Pro.

Thanks so much for this info. 2ManyCars - I'm quite sure you are correct when thinking about it. I know that another Rennlister "Gus" hooked up his Traffic Pro with Bluetooth using an add-on from Motorola so it's must be wired into the Traffic Pro circuit as you point on. Many thanks for thet info. Matt

The unit is 5 years old, no BT in it. You would need a external BT device, & have it connect through the AUX input cable from Becker, that gives you 2 RCA connectors.

Thanks geo, I'll definately follow up on that. So I presume the unit can rear burned CDs? Any chance you know exactly where on the Becker site you can find the antenna? Or is it better to mail them?

If anyone needs the GPS antenna cable PN 996 612 970 01 let me know. Looks like I have one I will not need. (this is not the antenna itself but the GPS antenna cable, see this thread for more)
Send me a PM.

Update.
Got the unit installed. Installed the Porsche Nav antenna, not sure it was worth $95
GPS works flawless, updated to V2 disk, works fine
Installed my iPod cable, didn't work, tried in vein for 3 days to activate the AUX input.
Turns out, our unit is different from the others. To turn on the AUX you...
press the NAV & mulitfuction button 10 (last button on the bottom row)
move the **** till you get to the AUX & activate it.
BOOM, I can now use my iPod!! The sound is good, but not "CD" quality, but nice. This really does sound much better then the 210 unit!! SO HAPPY!

Thanks for the update. I have one of the same units that has not yet been installed. In my case I'm also attempting to hook up an IPOD using a cable from Navonne Engineering connected to the AUX port as well as a Sirius Sat. radio. Another Rennslist Guy also hooked up a Bluetooth so I'm hoping that will be possible. A few questions:
1. Does your IPOD cable charge the unit?
2. Where did you run the IPOD cable. I'm thinking of replacing the casettee holder in the center console and putting mine there.
3. Are you using stock speakers and amp?
Any help you can provide is much appreciated, and thanks for the tip on the AUX - you;ve saved me lots of pain and suffering.
