1. Yes, it charges it
2. Right now, it's just hanging from under the dash, till I got it working. This weekend, I'm going to run it to the storage tray through the center tunnle
3. Yes, no need to upgrade, the sound it great to me.

Yes, it looks factory, cuz it is! I LOVE how it displays "PORSCHE" when you turn it on. Hopefully, I'll get some pics soon.

My cable

The unit comes with the V1 CD's, I got the V2 disks sent to me, they are burned copies. When I get my FTP working, I'll post them there for all.

Stealth,
Have you tried the cable to see if if will charge your iPod? My cable plays from iPod headphone jack through AUX/CD changer input, but won't keep the iPod charged.

fullbrooker I have a cable that connects to the AUX/CD changer input that will play the IPOD but got another from David Navonne in CA that both charges and plays - for about $25. My play is to use it to connect an IPHONE in the near future so having it in the glovebox doesn't work for me - I'll need it nearby .

Phil....this is the info. that you need. Dave was incredibly helpful.

http://www.davidnavone.com/index.htm
David Navone [dnavone@davidnavone.com]

Here's the link to his site - the part you are you looking for is:
IPOD-RCA CABLE ADAPTER
N-IPOD-RCA-Plus $24.95

Let me know if this works for you. I note that on his site he's also selling plug-ins to control IPOD's from various head units. He may even have one that works with the Traffic Pro we have. Hope this is helpful

Thanks for the info. Stealth. Did you replace your cassette holder center tray with something more useful? If so what kind of storage tray are you using? I bought the V2 CD's on Ebay for about $50 - there are several of them out there - beats paying $200 for new ones .

Mine charges it, but you have to have the cable that I linked in my above post.

Mine came with the $300 CD cd holder, since my stock unit was a 220. I'm going to put the $50 "tray" in there, & that's where my iPod will sit.

You may be able to figure it out with this:

http://www.trafficpro2.com/UG7200USenglishRevA.pdf

I didn't read it in depth but it should at least get you close enough in the menu selections so you can figure it out.

FWIW it's a striped wire but I'm not sure about the color. The info is here somewhere - do a search, that's how I found it.

These are the manuals for the 7820 unit :
Operation :
http://www.mybecker.com/beckerCms/ww...tion_Guide.pdf
Installation :
http://www.mybecker.com/beckerCms/ww...tion_Guide.pdf

I did not see any information on how to change the frequency steps in either of them.
On my 220 unit the steps changed along with the country settings, on the 7820 this is not the case

To tired to do a search for speed cable color at the moment.
Good night fellow Rennlisters.
