wow this is WB range.. I know the WB cars do not offer anything else in terms of performance but I would not mind adding one in in the future. To me at this price point it makes a strong argument.

That's higher mileage widebody 4S range nowadays.

2S demands more.

This 2S with similar mileage was sold for 185.000.

totally agree with ya. I am one that does not care so much for miles as long as some of the major things on a car are sound. I also do not mind putting in some money or work into a car. I did that with my current NB 993.

I finally got around to upping the value of my 96 66k mile C2 with insurance to $100k, it was more reasonable than I expected.

No sign of market softening for NB’s… if anything, trending higher. This is historical plot graph of BAT 993 sales (excluding wide-bodies, cabs, race cars, rwb, etc).

OK, so help me out here if anyone can steer me toward a reasonable figure. My 95 is a daily driver and has 183k miles, and in really good-for-its-age condition. I am with AAA insurance ...what should I be asking for when I go see them about "valuation" should the ugly happen? And for those who did this for your 993, did your premium just skyrocket or??
Thanks for any feedback!

Edward

^ I would just send high end comps and see what they respond with. In my experience raising the agreed value doesn't change the premium much.

For insurance, don't think about it in terms of what you think a fair selling price is, look at what it would cost you to replace it for something comparable, in a reasonable amount of time.

Occasionally lurking around here over the years you see many posts looking for 993's from guys who sold theirs a year or two prior, I honestly could not think of another car that I would like more than the 993 either.
Lastly, being that I am far from a baller, if / when the 993's land solidly in the six figure range I fear that I wouldn't enjoy driving it the little that I do since I'd be worried about something happening to it. First world issues I know, I should probably say the hell with it and drive the crap out of it.....
Yeah, u r right

Sorry but can't help you with your valuation. I purchased another pleasure vehicle and while talking to my independent agent I brought up raising the value of the 993. From what I remember bumping my 993 value up to $100k raised my premiums by $500 to $600 yearly, I have not gotten the written ammendments yet. I've been with this guy for over 30 years, all I had to do was email him pictures of the cars for the agreed value, he had to run them by another party with comps. I will update when I get the paperwork.

I originally had my mint 3.2 insured for $67k which is what I paid for it a couple years ago. Hagerty sent me a notice recently that they recommend upping it to $113k, and the premium only went up $66.

With regard to agreed value - Grundy offers a much better deal than Hagerty (I am in NY)

Very nice. Those black wheels are awful though.
