Just started from page/post 1, hadn’t caught up in years. It’s almost impossible to find a SHOP, capable of such quality work…let alone a dude in his garage with the car on jackstands.
mind blowing build.

Every time I drop in on this thread, I can hear my wife say..."I could've done so much better" and I think to myself...yeah, 100%. I thought I was pretty decent with a wrench but now...

Have you ever torn something apart, then unable to put it back together again? I mean, take any of your projects, I would chicken out before even starting. Are you learning as you go ( ie re doing a perfectly good RS wheel) or have you done all this stuff before? Killer thread and project!

Haven't found myself in a position to not be able to put something back together but after I took apart the seats last night, I did give some serious thought as to whether I've bitten off a little too much with making my own seat covers for it.
It's not a matter of the know-how or ability (I can sew and have upholstery/leather-working experience which goes back 20yrs. I'm just concerned as to whether I can pull this off w/ the two sew machines I have. Some of the velcro bits and other strapping is really damn thick, including sewing through plastic bits (you can kind of see what I'm talking about in the top left corner of that second photo I posted). My machines may laugh at me. We'll see. Perhaps time to upgrade.

This project is so impressive given the DIY aspect. Makes my RSD snafu pale in comparison. Feel like a monkey f-ing a football

So happy to see you picking up this thread - it’s been an inspiration. Maybe I missed it, but I haven’t seen anything on gluing down sound-proofing or carpeting yet. Have you done any of that?
