If you put the sale money into 9 years ago Bitcoin, you could probably have a fleet of 30 of them... ;p

There's a yellow 1997 993 4S on auction which doesn't match the production build sticker... Does anyone catch this? Production sticker indicates "Leather dash & Door panels" - not present on this uber low mileage yellow 4S in CT. . Additionally, there are other production vs actual discrepancies.. Hard to miss these inconsistencies..
Right? Some questions here ..

Car certainly doesn’t have leather dash and door panels..
Hardbacks are not factory painted, otherwise it would have option code XSA
Yellow seat belts are not factory
car has a 993RS shift ****
No longer US ride height
Where is decklid badge

nice car and I’m sure it will bring pretty strong money, but if it was original it would go even higher

give me a break... a shift ****, seat belts and the additional of hardback seats is not going to negatively affect the value!!

I disagree. On a 1100 mile car, originality is much more important than your typical BaT auction. Not many potential buyers looking to drive this car. I like the modifications, but they won’t help the value. If the car was totally original it would sell for a much higher price, hands down.

agreed.. and if the car had 50k miles, certainly no one would care about a couple minor reversible mods and it wouldn’t materially affect the price..

the leather dash and door handles not being present even though they are on the options list is still odd.

the only thing that is an issue is the dash and door handles.... how or why would these be
modified by the previous owner(s)???

I don’t think that was a mod, it seems almost like a factory mistake or omission. The leather dash and door handles aren’t on the CoA, but apparently on the options sticker. I checked the options sticker of my black C4S that has a full leather interior and it has option code 09981. They show this in their options listing for the car but it doesn’t have leather. Bizarre.

Man, that white C4S interior hurts my eyes. That will take more than a few bucks and a few hours to revert. At least in their latest eBay ad they only have one interior photo to conceal that hot mess. Apparently the owner was so enamored by the stainless sills that he didn’t care that he was putting Carrera S sills on a Carrera 4S..

Big deal.... sills.... but from the photos shown, the only odd thing I see is a giant speaker in the door
What are you referring to?

But white on black is hot in my opinion...

lots more photos here

The seatbacks are pretty awful, there is mismatched aftermarket/fake carbon everywhere, the dash and center console have all sorts of strange custom aluminum accents, it’s a mess.

agreed- at that price and miles it's a pass...
I hate those fake trim rings around the gauges...

Why do some silver face FACTORY gages have an "S" on them and some do not?

Factory gauges in my "S" but no S on the gauges????

for whatever reason, Porsche did not put the “Carrera S” script on the cars that were optioned with silver gauges. My arctic C2S factory silver gauges…

That looks like mine but you have 11k less on the odo!

So who gets the S on the gauge faces?
