What %'s does Gooding extract from buyer/seller? Certainly more than BaT or PCar. Some of those cars are not ultra-low mileage, so perhaps they will be further driven and enjoyed?
"Provenance" and lovely Rudy whom I knew- for those who remain unvaccinated x3, for whatever reasons- or lack thereof- some unsolicited advice:

Can't blame the family for taking the cars to Amelia vs. listing on BAT and having to deal with the peanut gallery asking to see the back of the speedo and other stupid questions like that.

one thing to keep in mind is that we're all discussing the idea of maxing out the return on each car. for gigi and his family, i'm sure it's more about long term stability, ease of transaction, and moving past the obstacle of the collection. even though we, as enthusiasts, don't see this as a huge undertaking with significant detail, it is when you have this many cars to liquidate. the difference between say $2.2M and $2.4M will likely not be something they lose any sleep over. i'm sure someone is helping in the auction process and overall expectations of the sale will have been discussed in great detail. his family will do rather well from the proceeds of the sales (not just amelia island) and that is likely their main objective.

That's a little more than $1 per mile on the odo. I will offer my '96 NB at a better price, $0.75 for every mile on the odometer, currently at 130k miles.

What aftermarket seats? These are OEM Porsche Hardbacks that were “refurbished” by Valdemar in Germany.

The frames are OEM std frames that he modifies to accept the hard backs. The backs are reproductions that Waldemar has made for him.
