They may be “outliers” just due to being Rudy’s cars. The colors are desirable… but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I personally don’t care for a “bone stock” car. When I got mine from Classic with 27k miles I immediately started to Modify and make it mine. I wish I could have found one at the time as cherry with all the RS Bits, Exhaust, Suspension etc….. I would have paid a premium but that’s just me and my taste. So it all depends….should be interesting where they end up.

None of these cars are "heavily" modified.

correct. rudy typically did everything people on here would do - suspension, sport seats and some got wheels. sport seats were his big item. he also kept all/most of the original seats for each car. his cars are modified on an ordinary 'rennlist' level. i don't think these will be looked down upon at Gooding at all.

agree - the painted sport seats, painted calipers with matching seat belts and the three spoke wheel were his typical upgrades. Years ago he had a thing for aftermarket wheels, and he had different setups on all the cars (BBS E88, reverse mount BBS LM, RUF, Hartmann twists) they always looked incredible. In recent years, he went back to Porsche (mostly turbo twist) wheels on most of his cars.

And also we are looking at listings without descriptions at this point. Rudy had a mountain of parts, we don’t even know if the original seats / steering wheels will be included in any of these auctions yet.

I have Waldemar's on order for that reason.
Here I agree. My hardbacks are polar silver and I left them like that despite my C2S being Arctic.

I will go back and summarize this offering in one word: Provenance. May they bring in all the record braking money they deserve for his family.

If I didn't have this GT3T to take care of in 3 months I would probably go after one of the cool colored 4Ss, but I also have to wait on @L39E to decide if he wants to give me first dibs on any of his less used skittles bits first. I'm in the minority as I prefer the 4S so always some options out there. I may call Ryan and see what he wants for that polar/red cherry. Stay tuned....

I kept them for posterity in case I get the 993 itch again, so I get it, but still would do Waldemars vs stock.

And to return to topic that was @Opo ’s signature mod so yes these cars will get their worth as there’s a cause behind them aside of their known provenance. Don’t be surprised they all break 2 bills.

Again what you are not considering is the Amelia crowd. Not "people you know".

Interesting what the price estimate from Gooding & company actually is set to. I dont know the milage but Id reckon the ocean jade car will bring much more than estimated by them.

If Rudys wife had teamed up with 911r on BAT to systematically sell these I think they would have absolutely killed it. Again, I hope that I am wrong, but I think these won't bring what they could have on BAT.

I typically like my collector cars stock but would pay a premium for one of Rudy's because 1) he was an authentic badass and 2) he only bought the best examples and made them better. 1mm for 5 of his WBs is too cheap imo. Good prices are starting guidance...

How do you know if I, or the people I know either go or don't go to Amelia?. Boy, tough crowd in here. Let me go back to the ADM threads on the GT forum for the rest of the week. Let's reconvene after the auction and compare notes on results. That Ocean Jade is going to blow it out of the water. Aftermarket bits or not. Happy Bidding.

You are most likely right. But I'm sure it's easier on the family emotionally to sell a chunk at a time instead of one at a time. It's not all about eeking out every dollar. Hopefully the collection will be enjoyed by the new owners and driven often.

Tough crowd? I guess you are forgetting you were the one that suggested a member is "on an island" if he prefers stock seats over aftermarket buckets. I have them in my car. but I also posses the ability to look beyond my own personal preference and draw conclusions as to what other people are looking for. ESPECIALLY the Amelia auction crowd. Dont be so sensitive bro.
