can I be the cheap guy and ask about the price? That is where I decide need to have versus nice to have

Meenrod - I think so yes. I have a 95 car with the rectangular block and I think it is late 95. I also have a small gizmo that I have to plug into a slot on the dash before the car will start. Recently, it has occasionally not made its bleeping noise when I inserted the gizmo but is still unlocking the car.
Trevor-UK - I'm not sure if it the same thing but it seems to have the same issues as the US cars. Do you have the little immobilser gizmo?

Early on it was envisioned a switch would be incorporated to "re-enable" anti-theft protection, but that's no longer necessary. With the Immo Block you get anti-theft protection whenever you lock the car with the FOB - no need to throw a switch, unplug the unit or take any other special action - it's automatic. (This distinguishes it from ECU-based defeats which completely remove anti-theft protection).

I have a '96 car. It is unlocked (and disarmed) using a fob, allowing me to start the car immediately with no further fiddling (no gizmo on mine but I know the one you mean) - if I don't start the car within 20 or 30 seconds, the starter circuit is immobilised (all lights will come on with the key but no click, whirr, brumm). When this happens I need to press the unlock on the fob again to re-enable it (for another timed period). This sounds like a similar process the US cars are following? I believe many UK cars were supplied from Porsche with a Hamilton and Palmer alarm system - maybe just a front end to the Driveblock?

MSRP? Waiting on quotes from suppliers but barring a major surprise it should be significantly less an ECU-based defeat. Hopefully the price and easy DIY will make this attractive to a wide audience.

Thanks for your interest and question.

Does the anti-theft switch off if you unlock with the fob? (And so then can be started any time, even if left unlocked for longer than typical re-arming of the anti-theft?)
This sounds great, regardless! Looking forward to the release.
