There is no brake regen in the t hybrid system. I thought he said that the 992.2GTS had excellent brake pedal feel in both ceramic and steel because Porsche did not use a regen braking system…….but I could be mistaken.

Listened again, you're correct, I misunderstood him.

The thing is, Jalopnik probably lost most of their credibility a decade ago. 🤷‍♂️

That's what I heard as well: no regen brake system in the new GTS

So if there's no regen, the only way to charge the battery would be 1. When it slows the electronic turbo or 2. Overdriving the engine and using the engine as a generator. Maybe that's enough for such a small battery? But why wouldn't they do deceleration regen?

From what the Carwow guy was saying using deceleration regen would change the braking feel that inspires confidence. Not sure if that is just his conjecture or what Porsche told him

My takeaway is that with the torque fill and extra power from the hybrid system and the faster shifting and more aggressive RAS from the 400v architecture, the new GTS drives more like a performance EV with a muscular exhaust note on the track. This comes at the expense of a less involving (less shifting) and more artificial (RAS, PDCC, fake exhaust sounds) experience on the street.

Which video review did you watch to come to that takeaway. Because for myself the Savagegeese review made the GTS seem fantastic. But we all have our own opinions

Both the SavageGeese and Smoking Tire (Matt Farah) reviews. Even Mark from SG said that he would take the Base over the GTS for a canyon/mountain drive.

Well Mark is a JDM guy so you could see why he would say that

these guys along with Matt tWatson are just paid clowns. The car is faster, the interior is basically the same minus iconic features, the exterior looks like a cheap tuner bodykit, and it's more expensive. It's a no brainer PASS. Don't need a YouTube to tell me that l.
