Well, my father did once dig the vegetable garden in his dress uniform…but he had spent the day at functions in the officers mess!

Or get an EV for commuting .

A manual in a modern car just isn't the same. Light clutch. Hill assist, stall assist, blip, etc.
You could spend 99% of your time in 2nd gear, but should you?

Great, and now we're back to manual vs pdk again.

Any details? Will it just be the existing 992.2 set up with a manual and maybe some light weight options?

Carrera S is 100% a hybrid. No manual

No info about the T
C2S will use a detuned version of the hybrid GTS powertrain then, as we suspected? So the 3.6L hybrid and not the 3.0L engine?

If I were a betting man, I would say 3.6 with pdk motor only, traditional twin turbos out of the base.

You prefer manual which is fine. Hardly call a Targa or Cabriolet which is a bit heavier with PDK compromised.

From all the early talk, it always sounded like the GTS was going to be a bit more special for the 992.2. A de-tuned version of the GTS would certainly be the easiest way to go though.

I am still hoping that the S will actually just have the 3.0L or new 3.6L flat-6 with the single e-turbo, no electric motor assist, and have a manual available with it. I don't mind the electric motor assist, but I would rather have the manual option. I do love the sound that the turbo waste gate in the 992.1 base Carrera makes though after revving it up and then letting up. If there is no manual option for the S, I do think the ~2026 base Carrera 4 Cabriolet with PDK might be the way I go. Either way, I would rent them both or go to PECLA first.

Absolutely. But I'm a pretty die hard manual guy as evidenced by my cars below. I have a PDK 992 C2S (because wife) but I HATE that transmission and only drive it when I absolutely have to.

I would rate driving preferences from best to worst as:
Manual not in traffic > Manual in traffic > enormous gap > automatic not in traffic > automatic in traffic.

It's a just bunch of diehards trying to keep it alive. The millennials and zoomers that don't even like driving will continue to buy automatics or 1 pedal driving EVs.

Totally get that Crusje, just needs its own thread (or one of the countless other pdk vs manual), they're free. That is not what this thread is for at all. Just my opinion

Us die hards are keeping the enthusiast cars alive. Next generations won't be buying cars. They'll go to a subscription/Uber based model. No license needed.
