The “oh this is an experience” mantra would certainly get old after the 200th clutch release in 1 mile.

Most of them say that stuff 'cause it's fashionable to say so. Zero of them like that 200th clutch release.

LOL. Not once did I think I should have bought an automatic in all my years of owning manuals. I don't get buying a 911 in PDK because of traffic when you actually prefer a manual. Get a cheap commuter then.

It can get old but it's how you look at things also. For years I daily drove in LA bumper to bumper traffic with manuals. Alfa, BMW, Porsche. Didn't bother me. Sometimes I wished I didn't have to press the clutch. But it never really bothered me. Now I don't even want to drive in LA no matter what transmission.

The funny thing about rennlist: ANY thread (OP could be about seatbelts) can 100% deviate into a MT vs PDK or 5 lug vs CL wrangling.

Cayennes are appliances, 911s not that much. No comparison

Don't forget about PPF arguments too! It's the Rennlist way. I actually love both transmissions and find numerous reasons to go with either.

Put an NA 3.6 engine in the 992.2 T with a GT 6 speed manual and they will fly off the showroom floor. We shall see….

One of my favorite cars of all time was a ‘70 E type roadster that had a bad synchro from first to second gear. If you didn’t hit the rpms just right, you couldn’t shift into 2nd. I could drive that car like no one else and could shift into any gear without using the clutch since I knew it so well. I still miss it.

The only thing that may tempt me away from our current 7 speed Targa 4S would be a Turbo Targa 4S with a 7 speed and 5 bolt wheels. I’m not too worried about that combo coming to life.
I started on manuals at 14 and recently went pdk. I don't agree with your statement at all. In the 992 I could spend 99% of my canyon time in 2nd gear. Give me and older momentum car and there is a lot of 2-3-4-3-2 action on the same road.

A manual in a modern car just isn't the same. Light clutch. Hill assist, stall assist, blip, etc.

I had a ‘15 TT that the dealer convinced me I would love when I changed from a MT C4S to the TT order at his suggestion (remember those days when you could order all but the rarest models at an 8% discount?). Did not like it.

Agree on the assist items one can’t turn off and gearing but it’s still better than a PDK for my taste.
Removing the option may be inevitable but makes me less interested in getting another one.

Nope . The birdie did know that the GTS was the premiere over a month ago. The info wasn't perfect though because he was expecting a high revving NA hybrid .

Porsche hasn’t exactly had a problem moving 911s. This is a pipe dream. Not happening.

But that Braun shifter and piano black on the center console…….sorry, couldn’t help it. Ha ha. Trying to make Shogunade’s point.

Wonder if they would drop the AWD Turbo and only leave it for the Turbo S to differentiate Turbo from Turbo S significantly. Now they are a very similar offering imo.
