992.2 Info

Can anyone summarize what (if any models) will have a manual? Don't want hybrid, turbo or tech in general. PDK is a non-starter. Don't care about power but do want to buy the absolute latest manual production carerra with a manual for future proofing reasons (and next gen GT3 assuming they stick to the forumula). If an NA manual 992.2 Carrera of some sort is available, I'll happily buy one at whatever price. If I'm forced into another turbo manual, I'll live with it.. If none are available, I'm done with newer Carreras and hope there is a 992.2 GT3 w/ manual or even 994 GT3 w/manual I can still buy (additions at this point, I'm not selling anything I already own)

But that is with the 3.8L motor which was 395hp in the S and 430hp in the GTS. The base 991.1 engine was 3.4L @ 350hp. I think you are correct that a 3.6L NA engine will need some form of mild hybrid to boost it to 483hp.

Three 992.1 colors are going NLA in March and April 2024 so it is difficult to imagine it is going to be approximately six months until the arrival of the dot two. For those that are unaware, Shark Blue and Racing Yellow are NLA after 03/15/24. Ruby Star Neo follows in April.

Yeah with a 3.8l engine. The point is that a 48v hybrid system can not provide 50+ horsepower and 80+ ft lb of torque. The engine would either need to be turbocharged or there would have to be a higher voltage hybrid.

These figures seems too specific to have no basis at this point. I'm sure there are some inaccuracies in that article, but pinning specific numbers to it makes is seem like at least some of this stuff is already decided/done.
I was hoping my GT3 allocation would have bee a 992.2, but now I think I'm very happy that I'm getting a 992.1 build, esp if manual may be comprised (but that does seem far fetched to limit the gt3 to pdk).

Very interesting, happy with my 992.1 C2 GTS Manual. We'll let them figure out the kinks and reevaluate with the next generation.

The info isn't clear, but seems to imply that there will be no manual on anything except maybe GTS and GT3. If they offer a non T-HEV variant then maybe, but it is not clear if all Carreras will be T-HEV or not.

I don't think anyone needs to worry about a manual not being available for the next 5 years.

Apparently so.
I am on a home dealer list for .2 C4S which will have exactly 4HP more than a 991.2 C4GTS ? .
I am sure some of this has to do with emission regs but it makes the current 992 gen all that much more attractive.

Curious to understand why you think so

What a mess of an article. Not even worth the time trying to digest it.

From a very selfish perspective, I hope the 992.2 is not offered in a manual for 2 reasons:
1. Don't want to be tempted to buy and/or feel bad my 2023 manual S is outdated
2. Makes my 992.1 manual S more special and valuable.
