So, taking the existing twin turbo 3.0 engine and adding the new mandated emissions standards, Porsche needed to add more air (bigger turbos/ higher boost) and colder air (bigger intercoolers) to make the same HP. C&D states that the "upside" is less smog, but they fail to add the engine is being starved of fuel and air. Tuners are already seeing HP numbers above the new 992.2 GTS by simply swapping to GTS turbos and software tweaks to 992.1 base and T models.
I assume the emissions restrictions are largely for the EU market? It'd be nice if they could unleash the tuning for the US market since we don't have that degree of restrictions. I understand tuners will unlock it but it's always nice to not have to worry about warranty

I’m curious if Porsche used smaller injectors, and lower capacity fuel pump, since the fuel demand is for the lower power level. If true, a tune may not be enough to unlock the full potential.

While you are correct, shrimp money isn't complaining about Porsche's efforts per se. If you follow the flow of the replies, he's merely explaining why the base, despite the hardware upgrades, is being handicapped at 388 hp. His analogy is correct.

Explaining, not complaining. He was responding to MacAna’s direct question. We are quick on the trigger to argue and criticize, aren’t we? Chill.

What do you expect from the guy who makes a circlejerk thread calling any criticism of the 992.2 "hate"?

Mostly Montecristo Whites.

Many dealers won't to ADM (mine included) but they get you in other ways (low ball trade ins, watches, extras, etc.). So technically, it can be true.

If they did that, then no one would pay more for the S/GTS....

Yes. You are correct. Lambda 1 is an EU standard.

It’s a German standard, not an EU standard …. yet. One article suggested it was a proposed standard and Porsche (and others) expect it to become widely adopted.
