I currently put my name on the waiting list for both the 911 4GTS and Corevette Stingray..
Maybe a good 3yrs until I get 911 vs 1.5yrs until my stingray....
I know there's lots of differences including price but I just cant decide yet which to go for...
Question......what was the main reason you guys decided for the 911 if you had the corvette in mind?
Just curious...

No disrespect but for me it comes down to if you have to ask you’ll probably a Corvette guy/gal. From an early age I’m in my early 60s now I loved Porsches had posters on my wall of 356 Porsches in races read every article I could on Porsches. When all the other kids had posters of Corvettes and Chevelle’s on their wall I had Porsche that’s the difference for me. I’ve had 4 including my2022Targa.

We had money down for a 2022 Corvette and well, came to our senses because they are 2 completely different levels of vehicles. At the end of the day a Corvette is a great bargain. "Bargain" is the key word. If that is your cup of tea, have at it. It is very good at what it does and what it doesn't.
Porsche 911s are engineered and designed as a performance vehicle. To me, the Corvette is engineered and designed as components to hit a price point, when put together, make a vehicle.
Get what you wish and you'll be happy.

Personally, given the price delta between the two cars, they really aren't competitors in my opinion.
Maybe in terms of pure performance metrics (0-60, Vmax, track times, etc.) they are are similar, but in terms of driving experience and ownership experience, I think the two really aren't comparable. For one, you'll be servicing your Vette at a Chevrolet dealership, where bottled water is a luxury amenity and your Vette will be lining up next to a Chevy Spark. Meanwhile, you get fresh brewed espresso and soft-baked cookies when you take your 911 in for service, and maybe hang with a 918 or Speedster. Just something to consider.

Why you think it takes 3 years for 4GTS? I know waiting lines are long but never heard that long for a 4GTS.
On your choices - agree with what other said - but pick what makes you happy and not what other people think makes you happy. But there is a reason more people trade-in their corvette at Porsche dealer and not many do the opposite.

Given your timeline, why not get both, or at least get the Vette, see if you like it or not, and if you don't trade it in and get the 911.

The corvette is every bit the sports car the porsche is. Corvette racing has been highly successful in similar venues as porsche and while you are getting value and in some places, it shows, in terms of a performance vehicle, the corvette is a great choice. Its the standard stereotypes in here...and plenty of badge snobbery.
If you care about having a cool, high performing car at a great price, there is not a singular thing wrong with the corvette...although you may have to suffer the indignity of having a dunkin donuts cup of coffee next to the poors at the chevy dealership.

I looked at both cars and for me, the choice was simple. The Porsche is a daily driver, a car that I can live with day in and day out. The Corvette is a flashy weekend toy. Nothing wrong with that. Just depends on what YOU are looking for.

the waiting I got was 16-18months before allocation for the 4gts so until delivery a safe 3yrs I expect. I live in va.

Corvette looks like a Ferrari, Porsche looks like a Porsche.
Corvette interior with the button bar thing, what the hell?
Where's the manual?
Being a bargain, a lot more people can afford one, and will. I'd rather be unique and stand apart, even though it costs $$. I think I'll be able to recoup my money or at least a greater percentage with the Porsche than a Corvette.
I don't know about the cookies and servicing thing, I only do service for warranty items. (2 times after 11k/1yr, 3rd when/if I get my 2nd key).
Positives for the 'vette... you'll probably get 2 keys on delivery.
While you're deciding, maybe a trip to Vegas and drive both at: https://exoticsracing.com/
Stupidly, I did this and it's a major contributor to my reason for buying a Porsche. I wasn't looking to buying anything until I drove each, Porsche, Corvette, and Ferrari.
