I've also had some disappointing experiences from Bellevue. Was told there were 6 or 8 in front of me as of last September. Now 16. WTF? I asked if they let preferred customers cut and was told absolutely not, that it's first come, first serve. I had to stop in to learn I was #16 now, since my sales *** won't answer my calls or emails. Guess I'll wait for the market to soften and will get a slightly used something. Somewhere else.

This is quite amusing. If no one is guaranteed a tomorrow, I'd struggle going away with the knowledge that I spent my last day pleading with a dealer employee for something not all that meaningful.

What "games" are they playing by asking a market clearing price for their product? It isn't like they aren't being very transparent about their pricing.

if this was the only way I could buy a new Porsche then I would move on. Just me not telling you what you should do.
I think that’s very cool. I like your resolve. It just means you’re not going to have a new Porsche anytime soon. Especially in Florida because as a person that practically called the entire United States looking for a turbo S I can say with absolute confidence the highest ADMs were right here in our beloved freedom loving state. The worst being the Dealer in Orlando had a cool $125,000 over retail for their TurboS’s. What kills me in all this is since the economy is definitely crashing you would think this practice would discontinue however as many people noted the part shortage is not getting better anytime soon and that after all is the leading driver in this along with the great economy that we had before. Also I don’t wanna disappoint anyone but most luxury brands have ADMs right now. Sorry. But I think Porsche is the worst. Of course I didn’t check McLaren or Ferrari or Lamborghini. Lol

Oh I can definitely help you with this. Actually give me 20 minutes in front of a kindergarten class and I can make them understand this. The economy is going to continue to crash and suck so long as energy costs are this high. It’s the price of oil that has caused inflation and absolutely nothing else. Energy costs effect absolutely 100% of every consumer goods bought around the world at every level of purchasing. Now I would go into more detail for the kindergarten class but I’m sure everyone on this forum knows what that last sentence I wrote means. Everyone also know it’s absolutely true. So now the cost of everything has skyrocketed and that’s called inflation. So the rocket scientist feds, knowing fully well what they’re doing is futile is raising interest rates to try to combat that. The theory is by raising rates that will slow buying down and thus causing prices to lower. However the only buying that will be slow down by high interest rates will be the only part of our economy that WAS still doing well and that automobile and housing purchases. While we are all whining (me too) about paying over retail for a luxury sports car our fellow citizens in the lower middle class have had a rent increase of somewhere around 20 to 30%. Also their fuel bill has almost tripled. I have not watched CNN since I think 1992 because that’s what I figured out they were remarkably biased but I imagine if you did watch them they would be trying to convince everyone that their beloved administration was doing a great job and there was nothing wrong with the economy. I could be wrong though.

You are of course 100% correct. The market is the market and people are going to get what they can get for their products. Just like the gentleman you were responding to if he was selling his house he would take the most money he could get for it. That would not be playing games that would be getting market price. And I don’t think we will ever see him complain if somehow someday these cars are selling for 10-50K under MSRP. That could very well happen. There’s a neighborhood near me that in 2005 for a newly built home that was quite nice was $350,000. By the peak in 2007 that same house was $800,000. After the housing crash in 2008 was back down to $300,000. During this last housing boom of the last couple years as people were leaving northern states and coming to Florida some of those houses, yes those same houses were selling for $1.2 million. No one was playing any games. People were bidding on the houses. Markets and what people are willing to pay determine final pricing. It really is that simple. How else could a baseball card or a stamp sell for $1 million? Don’t even get me going about art and what some of that sells for. Talk about playing games. Lol. If you guys are that mad add this Porsche pricing stuff thank God you don’t play around in the watch hobby. You would have a heart attack if you saw what’s been going on in the last five years.

My son called on a Taycan Cross Turismo the other day and was told "125% of MSRP", which was already $127K on the car.

I haven't bought a watch since 2017. That market is eye popping.

I imagine you are a big fan of NFTs!

It really boggles my mind that people who have clearly reaped the benefits of a market based economy can be so offended when it works against their desires.

You have to wonder what rocket scientist of a purchasing manager at Porsche decided that was a good idea? You also have to wonder if that dude still has a job. Lol

Sometimes I think I’m the only one that remembers just how corrupted and messed up the Ukraine was all by itself long before Russia ever thought of invading them.

OMG, don't get me started on that one. I got my last Rolex just before covid at MSRP...it is worth double today or more, but I would never sell it. Put my name down for two more and maybe in 3+ years...the watch market is insane. Anyone willing to sell Patek Nautilus at MSRP

I'd bet they just aren't getting the allocation numbers. Clearly you have way too much free time to over think and I'd bet you're wrong. Do business with people you can trust, if you think the scam is in then pull the plug!!
