992 GTS Lightweight Package

Thanks for the feedback. All I have been reading about this past month is how anything with LWC buckets is getting stop built at the factory unless they are RS cars (standard) to fill those allocations because of shortage. I wonder if there's truth to that and if this has happened yet with someone who has a lightweight package GTS allocation? Interestingly enough, the LWP is still available with 18-way sofa seats. I would still consider this as an option if the carbon buckets create a stop build scenario. I still think the benefits are there either way.
I have a request for allocation currently waiting for a GTS and have time to make changes.

I would think the difference between 4 & 18 is about the same as fasting for breakfast. I cycle and see the same thinking there with the weights of our bikes. They are called “gram weenies”. It’s not surprising, but people can tend to over-think these things sometimes.

True, but the 4-way is much cheaper as well, so that's probably why Porsche decided to include that in the package. My reasoning behind getting that would merely be for the cosmetic looks of no back seat and extra storage. We're empty nesters now and the 4 grown kids aren't ever going to ride in it lol.
- my service advisor who I have a long-standing respect for said they are comfortable, but become less so on longer rides. She really pushed me toward the 18 ways.
- the inability to tilt the seat back made it too difficult to put larger bags/ items in the back seat
- the “trumor” that the LWBS were stop order on the GTS.
as always, this is only one man’s motivations, not the right motivations.

Underbody aero and ~ 50% more down force. This is specific to the light weight package and you are not able to spec in any other configuration along with the glass and battery. There are many reviews saying that it definitely rides differently being stiffer with better turn in and feels very much racier and quicker Savagegeese and Smoking Tire etc. just to name two of many others around the world. In the end all personal choice. Great car no matter what the spec. I ordered mine with the buckets and considering the PCCB and manual to get as light as I can without getting the carbon roof. In a manual spec the car becomes a great deal lighter in that combination.

Will have to talk to my SA as he has not given me that info as of yet at least here in Canada. I am scheduled for Euro delivery so not sure if that matters. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah, it’s unfortunate. Here’s a post of a 992 TTS Lightweight Package buyer that was denied LWBS a few days ago. https://rennlist.com/forums/992-turb...ket-seats.html

Yes, I just went back to full leather interior and added the aerokit then. Not making the compromise for it at that cost.

I tried to spec it and my allocation was pushed back to the order stage. My freeze was unlocked and only have a few more days to make modifications.
Been waiting for a long time for my 992 GTS with LWB. This sucks.

No LWB is a bummer. Lightweight package with the LWB seems like it would be a great spec. I would love to take one for a spin or even ride shotgun. Good news for those who were able to spec with them because it doesn't seem like Porsche could have made many of them. Time will tell, but those cars may be keepers.
