So it seems. 40.600 is out FWIW

Just want to take a minute to thank you for all the pioneering work you did laying the groundwork for us to build on!

Anytime, mate. Someone had to be the Guinea pig.
We gotta keep trying different things. I believe there's a lot that can be accessed with this tool. Some of it actually relevant for driving, like the sport/track/race mode combined with the changes in steering, which made for a more interesting subset of driving modes. My last posts on the other thread covers that. I'm going to try the same with the electric brake booster setting. I have the impression that's the same hardware as in the GT3 (before the latter had different mechanical booster).

Well it had to be acknowledged.

Here is a very useful site to decipher Porsche Order Codes. Please note that for my 992C4S, some codes were located in the Taycan offering others in the Macan as well as the 992 section. Another place to spend a day or two.

https://www.stuttcars.com/technical/option-codes/992/

I only have two codes I can't locate for now: 6EE (I think it has to do with the rear stone guard) and ALB.

Please note that VAL generates a ZIP file which can then be viewed by a browser, while VOF generates an XML (so 1980s...). A helpful tool to browse this file is QxmlEdit

Concerning the disabling of the "Passenger Seat Belt Inactive" sign, I will try with v 38 since v 40.450 doesn't do anything. Please note that code 4UB is USA, code 4UF can disable warning sign. Will play around with that as well.

Promising sign: Overview -> Airbag (SC) -> Coding programming -> Parameter Values: Bitfield Passenger-Presence-Detection activated (default) change to "not defined"?

I could not find the *** entrance on the F7 menu, maybe it changed or I got it confused with the cayenne.
I could not code a single line in this session. Not even a measly side light blinker. I think my battery is too crappy, although VW says it's dandy.

What entry were you looking for in Addl. Menus? There never was anything relating directly to *** there.

In futzing around disabling and enabling this or that my entire air system went on the fritz. Great care should be taken when modifying numerous parameters across modules.

Also several apparent differences between 991 and 992.

With all due respect John, you definitely should get a heavy duty battery charger (not maintainer) as this car (especially the PCM) sucks power like you wouldn't believe.

I use a 75A charger, not a maintainer. The battery won't fully load, it's getting worse. When I started coding I never had low voltage errors. The Cayenne with its lithium battery, codes without an issue.

Apologies, of course you have a charger.

You have an AGM I presume? I've had problems with that on the wife's 2020 Macan. As for the lithium battery on the 992, I watch it like a hawk when I'm playing. I think we have the same charger.

So some updates. I've tried both with v.38 and 40.450 and:

Your suggestion of Byte04 doesn't do anything

My suggestion mentioned above:

Selecting NOT DEFINED causes a write error and is thus ignored.
Selecting LOCKED OUT causes you heart to skip and immediate errors are logged and life takes a distinct turn for the worse. Resetting to initial value followed by clearing DTCs is obligatory.

Not sure where else to check to eliminate that at the moment.

Would love to have them on my GT3 and CXX gave me a big fat no. Lol
Try select one of these skin choices:
Benutzer 1 ActiveSkin :
Benutzer 2 ActiveSkin:

As mentioned, or at least I thought I had. Yes, there are I think 8 choices but only two are supported (must be the number of FOBs as @rnlst_log mentioned.

siberian

PS Haven't tried either, need to clear snow today

Benutzer 2 ActiveSkin:

NLRC will confirm the result soon...

BTW for any or all these mods, does the PCM/vehicle need to reboot? Once I get around to it I'd like to see about turning off the overhead seat belt sign. On the speedometer, the color change was instantaneous. Will in the case of the passenger seat this also turn off right away or need to reboot? If some need and some don't, we need to begin keeping or making a list of which do and which don't as if not we'd make a change, not see the result and assume it doesn't work. Food for thought. OK, back to the white stuff, Olga is waiting and she hates to wait...

The module being written to reboots, the PCM will if it's the module being worked on.
