Trying to centralize coding mods for the 992 here rather than in the Panamara Macan or Cayenne forums. No problem if folks object I can move it to wherever folks prefer or even start a whole new forum for PIWIS3.

So first of course, thank you to @rnlst_log , @rainer , @FerdinandAG, Alex, @John Mclane, Terry...and countless others who chimed in with helpful suggestions and tips. It's been a long couple of weeks.

So to kick things off, since a few of the items I had on my bucket list have been covered in the Panamera forum and Cayenne (no doubt) here is a pointer to changing the speedo tip:

Overview -> Kombi -> Coding and Programming: (Dash Board BOSCH PO68x 001): -> Kodiertwert -> (Coding Value): Kodiertwert: Codierbyte 02 Farbe Geschwindikeitszeiger: {default WEISS} -> change to ROT

WRITE (this updates the value in the car)

SAVE (this saves the value on your PIWIS PC)



Red speedo tip
It seems to no longer display it. The value is set to ROT (red) yet the needle is back to white. Need to look into it some more

Changing the number of flashes from default of 3 to in my case 5. This is under BCM2



Change the value from 3 to whatever you prefer

Don't forget to press ENTER and WRITE your changes for them to be updated in the vehicle

I am hoping to centralize mods for the 992 on PIWIS 3.

I realize a lot of the stuff is very similar across the Panamera etc. forums, but we have a big variance in software versions as well as vehicles. So my goal was to start a 992 PIWIS 3 (v.38 and v.40) software compendium and hope to include the incredible stuff done by JB911, John McLane et al. in the 992 forum rather than have to try and find it in the Panamera, Cayenne or Macan forum.

So please contribute if you have a 992 and PIWIS 3 with software versions 38 and 40.

Change the icon of your ride to your specific ride or turn it into a GT3! Select KOMBI, Kodierwert and scroll to Karroseserieform and select your car. Don't forget to hit enter and WRITE and Save if you wnat to save it on your PC

Save battery power and limit the time your dash stays alive after turning off the engine. Select Kombi ->Kodierwert and scroll down to the highlighted item changing the value from 240 seconds to however long you want. I went with a minute being long enough. Don't forget the hit enter, write and save etc.

OK for some reason this did not take and it's still switching off at 4 minutes rather than 1 minute as I specified. Need to look into it again. Letting the battery recover and will try more tomorrow. Sorry for this...

Can PIWIS add shift lights from the GT3? How about the digital gauge needle onto the speedo like the MY22 cars?

Not sure I know what you mean re. gauge needle, can you post a pic? As to shift lights, John McLane was looking for that as well, I haven't found it yet.

I Believe that on the '22 cars the spedo has a full needle that extends to the center of the gauge as opposed to just the needle "tip" on the earlier years.

Ahh, sorry don't have a 2022 to try but I'll put it on the list.

I also, I think, determined why only the speedo gauge is configurable. Given that the tach can be optioned in various dial colors, should you choose a green or red (IIRC only white, red and green are options) needle tip and have the same background you wouldn't see it. Just my thought given you can't modify it.

Got it. I thought you meant the car - color - wheels in the PCM Car screen.
